Handbook

Welcome back! We hope all of our Bison families had a restful Thanksgiving break. Three weeks and our Bison community will be entering winter break! The year is flying and full of events and activities. Check out the school calendar on our website to stay informed of all the happenings coming up.


Another resource to keep you informed is our Family-Student Handbook. High Plains School has 2 designated holiday parties during the school year: a winter party and Valentine’s party. Staff may organize a celebration for either. Your child’s teacher(s) will communicate if they are holding a party, when, and any other details, like items to donate and help needed.

Giving Tree

Our Giving Tree still has tags for the taking. It is located in our secured vestibule in the office. If you would like to grab a tag and give a gift we would greatly appreciate it. All you need to do is:

  • Select a tag from the Giving Tree

  • Purchase gifts (items listed on the ornament are suggestions)

  • Return WRAPPED gifts, with the tag attached to the school office. The tag MUST BE attached so we can identify the family/child receiving the gifts.

  • All gifts must be to the office by Wednesday, December 11th.

Last week for the Philo Food Drive

Student Ambassadors are partnering with Philo to collect nonperishable food items. The food drive will end December 5th. The need is great this year and every little bit helps. In particular the following are so helpful: Cereal, Canned Meat, Peanut Butter, Baking Mixes, Canned Fruit and Veggies, Soup/Broth, Rice, Pasta, Dried Stuffing, Pie Crust and filling, Juice, Coffee/Tea, Hot Chocolate, Snacks, Condiments, Personal Hygiene, Toiletries, All Baby Products.


Boxes are located outside of each classroom and will be collected weekly by student ambassadors. Thank you for helping to contribute to those in our local community!

PTCO Spirit Night - Thursday, 12/5 All Day at Pelican Joes.

Order online or dine in and they will give PTCO a percentage.

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is bursting at the seams with coats, sweatshirts and water bottles. Please come and take a look and find your student's lost items. On Dec. 19th at 4:00pm the items will be packed up and donated.
