News from Ann and Allie
Allie and I wish you a wonderful weekend. Below are a few things to put on your radar.
- We respectfully ask parents not to peer in classroom windows at arrival/dismissal or throughout the day. It can be distracting to students who are working and can cause alarm within students and staff, as many adults are strangers to them.
- We will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 29th with a parade and class parties. The all-school parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. (weather permitting). More specific details will be shared in the coming weeks.
- We will have Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 21st and 22nd. A sign-up will be sent to parents next week. Be on the lookout for a separate email from Mrs. Buch.
- MAP Assessment scores will be sent home today via backpack mail.
Westgate Cares- Socktober Event
Westgate Cares is bringing their first service project of 2021-22 to Westgate. On Friday, September 24th it kicked off with students decorating a paper sock at tables outside during recess. Then, during the month of October, we will have a Socktober Collection Drive to benefit the local Journeys organization. See this Socktober Flyer for all of the details.
Volunteers Needed to Help with SHIELD Testing
SHIELD testing will occur every Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. We are looking for parent volunteers who are willing to help supervise and assist students while in the Commons providing their samples. Please email Mrs. Buch at abuch@sd25.org if you are interested in helping out!
