Leadership Day – Less Than One Week Away!
We are excited to share that Franklin Covey has chosen Evergreen to serve as a host school during this year's Leader in Me Symposium in Los Angeles County. This recognition presents an outstanding opportunity to showcase our school's successful implementation of the Leader in Me program.
EVENT UPDATE: The big day is less than one week away! Our students and staff have been working diligently to prepare for this special occasion.
Evergreen will host approximately 100 attendees, educators from several school districts for a special Leadership Day visit from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 13. What makes this event particularly special is that it will be 90% student-led, demonstrating our students' remarkable growth and leadership development in just our second year of implementation.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: This is a "Dress to Impress" event. All students and staff are encouraged to dress in business attire!
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping make this implementation such a success!
Evergreen's Inaugural Father-Daughter Dance
The gymnasium at Evergreen School was transformed for our first-ever Father-Daughter Dance, welcoming more than 200 daughters and their father figures for a special evening together.
The dance floor was active throughout the night as families enjoyed a variety of music, creating new memories together. Fathers and daughters participated in fun games designed to strengthen their special bond.
Our dessert table offered delicious treats that provided the perfect refreshment between dances. The photo booth captured many smiles and moments that families will remember for years to come.
The strong attendance showed how much our Evergreen community values these connections and the important role father figures play in our daughters' lives.
Thanks to all who attended and to our volunteers who made this evening possible. We look forward to continuing this new tradition in the years ahead!
Evergreen Teacher of the Year
During our school-wide spirit assembly, we had an extra special surprise—announcing Evergreen’s Teacher of the Year! And what a surprise it was for Mrs. Julie Wong!
Not only was she recognized in front of the entire school, but the celebration was made even more special with another unexpected twist—her family was there to celebrate with her! Her husband, kids, grandchildren, and more joined in the excitement, making the moment truly unforgettable.
Mrs. Wong’s dedication, passion, and commitment to our students make her so deserving of this honor. We are so grateful to have her as part of our Evergreen family!
Congratulations, Mrs. Wong! 🎊👏
Evergreen Super Star Student and Partners in Education
Last month's school board meeting was an exciting evening filled with joy and recognition! We proudly celebrated our Evergreen Superstar Student, Tessa Fernando, along with our incredible Partners in Education, Charlotte Wu and Ray Dagnino!
We also gave a warm welcome to our newest staff members:
🍎 1st Grade Teachers: Isabel Mosso & Rachel Cho
🗣️ Speech Pathologist: Amy Takamoto
🌍 Bilingual Aide: Annie Wu
☀️ Noon Aide: Kunapathy Velar
It was wonderful to see so many Evergreen staff and families come together to honor these amazing individuals. Thank you for your dedication and contributions to our school community! 💚✨
Annual Poetry Festival
Our 2nd–5th graders took the stage for Evergreen’s Annual Poetry Festival, and they absolutely amazed us! From heartfelt recitations to powerful performances, our students showcased their incredible public speaking skills, bringing poetry to life with clarity and expression.
As a Leader in Me school, we empower our students to lead with confidence, and this festival was a perfect example of that! These young leaders shined as public speakers, finding their voice and using it to inspire others. We’re so proud of their hard work and bravery in sharing their poems in front of their peers. Bravo to all our amazing poets! 👏📖
