Cedar Hill Football To Wrap Up 2024 Season
The Cedar Hill High School Football Team dominated offensively (especially, in the running game) but came up short in a 56-35 loss at Mesquite Horn last Friday.
The Longhorns outgained the Jaguars, 528 to 370, including 393-60 on the ground.
Three turnovers hurt the Longhorns' chances of winning their final road game of the season.
Quarterback Tamarion Crochett finished with 206 all-purpose yards (130 passing, 76 rushing). Running back CJ Castleberry had nine carries for 59 yards and two touchdowns (he now has seven touchdowns on the season). Castleberry also caught three passes for 35 yards.
Juelz Carter had four carries for 65 yards, and wide receiver Cedric Mills had his first rushing touchdown of the season (41 yards), to go along with his five receiving touchdowns. Gabriel Berliner caught a career-high four passes for 42 yards.
Cedar Hill will wrap up the season against an undefeated Duncanville team that's ranked in the Top 5 nationally.
Keelon Russell passed for 140 yards and two touchdowns (both to Zach Turner) in a 50-6 win over Mesquite last Friday. JaQualon Armstrong rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns against the Skeeters.

Chism Says Cedar Hill Boys Basketball Team’s Making Strides
The Cedar Hill High School Boys Basketball Team has reached the UIL Class 6A Playoffs in three of the past four seasons.
With arguably the toughest district in Texas, Longhorns sixth-year head coach Corey Chism, a 2001 Cedar Hill High School Graduate, is optimistic that Cedar Hill can make yet another trip to the postseason.
“We’re getting better each and every day – a lot of growth is happening,” Chism said. “We’ve got quite a few guys with play making ability. They all seem to have the mentality of wanting to get better. This will be a fun team, and they play extremely hard like all of our teams do.”
The Longhorns will open the 2024-2025 season against Dallas W.T. White in the Jimmy Gales Classic at 5 p.m. Saturday at Davis Fieldhouse in Dallas.
