Parent/Teacher Conferences This Wednesday, 4/24 (check your email for details)
Hello, West High families!
Third Trimester Parent Teacher Conferences will be held IN-PERSON on Wednesday, April 24th from 4:15-7:45 PM. Conferences will be held arena style in the cafeteria (general education teachers), library (special education teachers), and room 153 (ELL teachers). This means parents will wait in line to meet with teachers - first come, first served. School counselors will also be available in the Commons to meet with families. Interpreters will be available as needed.
If you are unable to attend and have questions, please contact your student’s teachers or counselor via email. Updated grades can be viewed in Infinite Campus. If you have any questions, please contact our main office at (319) 688-1050.
Avoid Getting Towed!
This year we have struggled to keep our bus and staff parking areas clear during school hours. This is an issue because buses cannot get through for student transportation during and after school and traveling staff have nowhere to park when they arrive to start working.
We have reminded all students during announcements at Advisory time, announced license plate numbers for students to move cars, and left parking tickets on cars parked in a student prohibited area.
This letter is to inform students and families that we will now start towing cars that are parked in student prohibited areas after the following steps have occurred:
1st violation: ticket reminding student this is a prohibited student parking area
2nd violation: phone call home
3rd violation: car will be towed at owners expense
Plan on attending Walk It Out at West High is this Saturday, 4/27!
West's multicultural fashion show, Walk it Out, is this Saturday, April 27! Walk it Out is a great time to celebrate the diversity and culture that makes West High whole. At the show, over 60 students will be showcasing traditional clothing, a gallery walk will display cultural artifacts, and local businesses will provide a yummy dinner.
The doors open at 5:30pm for dinner and the gallery walk, and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets will be $5 if bought throughout lunch this week and or online, tickets will also be available at the door for $7.
Food donations are greatly appreciated! If your student is performing and you are interested in donating food, please sign up here or drop off donations at 4pm near the Auditorium entrance.
See you on Saturday!
Best,
Walk it Out Team
