SALMON SAYS...
As fall settles in and the seasons change, we are reminded of the beauty of new beginnings. It is with great enthusiasm that I announce the launch of our new district newsletter, a wonderful way to stay connected and informed about all the exciting things happening in our schools. I encourage you to subscribe to stay up to date with the latest news and events. We encourage each of you to share this with friends and family, as we now have the option for people to subscribe to the newsletter.
We are also proud to share our new mission: to foster excellence for all. This reflects our commitment to ensuring that every Tigerhawk has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we will continue to build a school environment that supports and uplifts every learner.
As we look ahead, parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner. These meetings are an important opportunity for us to work together and ensure the success of each student. Please be sure to sign up, and let’s continue our partnership to build a stronger and better community for all.
There is much excitement across the district, as we finish up fall activities and move into winter. Our goal of increasing student participation is showing through our numbers of students that are participating in activities. We are also providing additional opportunities for clubs through a grant that we received from the state that will include the hiring of a youth activities director. This will provide students an opportunity to get involved and the coordination of youth activities.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to an exciting and productive rest of the school year!

Cold & Flu Season is Here
As we enter cold and flu season, I want to remind everyone of some important guidelines to help keep our school community healthy:
1. Illness Expectation:
If your child has a fever of 100 degrees or greater, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep them home for 24 hours without the use of medication to relieve their symptoms before allowing them to return to school.
2. Use Your Best Judgment:
If you believe your child is sick or contagious, please keep them at home. It’s always better to err on the side of caution.
3. Head Lice:
There have been cases of head lice reported to the school. Please check your child's head weekly and begin prompt treatment if they have lice. Remind students to not share, hats, scarves, or brushes.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me. My email is lcummins@colfaxmingo.org. You can also call me at either school building. Thank you for your support in keeping our school healthy!
