Dear Dewey Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year! And for our newcomers, welcome to Dewey! I hope this letter finds you and your family well and rejuvenated after a wonderful summer break. We are thrilled to open our doors once again and embark on a new journey of learning, growth, and discovery with your children.
As we start this academic year, our commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for every student remains stronger than ever. We have spent the summer preparing our classrooms, updating our curriculum, and planning engaging activities to ensure that every child has a rewarding and memorable school experience.
Communication
We believe that strong communication between school and home is vital for student success. Please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date! If you need to update your phone number or email address, please reach out to Tammy Bozza.
A great way to stay up to date is to make sure you are reading newsletters from our teachers and administration and these items will be sent through email so it's very important we have updated information. And of course, you can also check our website for upcoming events and announcements.
Labeling Everything
We had a huge pile of donations at the end of the year from our lost and found bins. Please make sure you put your child's first name and last initial on EVERYTHING. We recommend labeling everything in black permanent marker. We always check tags before putting anything in the lost and found.
Procedures
The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority. Please keep your eye out for upcoming announcements that will outline everything you need to know about Dewey, including our arrival and dismissal procedures.
Accelerated Math
If your student is attending an accelerated Math class, you will see the name and grade level of that teacher at the end of the day on August 20th. Due to changes in staff, we have to confirm with teachers which teacher will be taking accelerated students and then we will update PowerSchool with this information. You will hear from your home room teacher and your Math teacher the first week of school.
I'd like to thank you for your continued trust and support. Let’s make this year the best one yet!
Warm regards,
Anna Marie
