Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year
Dear Families,
Welcome to the start of a new and exciting school year! As your principal, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each of you, whether you are returning families or new to our school community.
The first day of school is always filled with anticipation, hope, and the promise of new beginnings. It's a time to embrace fresh opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. Our dedicated team of educators has been hard at work preparing an engaging and supportive environment where every student can thrive.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding with us as we monitored and felt impacts from Tropical Storm Debby. Please continue to be safe and stay dry as this weather event begins to move out of the area.
We look forward to most of our students beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 9th. We will welcome ALL students on Monday, August 12th. If you have a question about when your child should begin, please contact your child's teacher.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year filled with learning, laughter, and success.
Warm regards,
Melanie Harris, Principal
Let's get ready for an amazing school year!
Preparing for the First Day!
First Days of School ~ Friday, August 9th & Monday, August 12th
We know that bringing your child to school on their first day is an important occasion for your family. We welcome parents/guardians to walk their child to class on the first day if you choose. Please be aware of some safety protocols that will be in place if you choose to walk your child to class. The doors open at 7:05 AM and we ask you to exit before the instructional day begins at 7:35 AM.
- Our school buses arrive in our Front Loop each morning. We ask that you not block the buses or the student exiting the buses. Students will enter first and then we will allow families to enter.
- All visitors must park their car and enter through the Front Entrance.
- All visitors must go through our Open Gate metal detection system to enter the school and walk their child to class. It is recommended to only bring your car keys, phone and any school supplies.
Each of these measures is being taken to ensure the safety of your child. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that H. E. Corley Elementary School is a safe school for all.
