Hello Burrell Families,
As we approach the end of another remarkable academic year, I am delighted to share with you the final edition of our family newsletter. It's hard to believe how quickly time has flown by, filled with countless achievements, growth, and memories!
As we bid farewell to the current academic year, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and challenges that the next one will bring. We are continuing to hire and fill new postions as we become a full K-8 campus.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our teachers, staff, parents, and creators for their unwavering support and commitment throughout the year. It is through your collective efforts that we have achieved so much and created a vibrant and inclusive school community.
Finally, I encourage you to stay connected with us over the summer through our school website, email, and social media channels. We will continue to share updates and important information to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year.

What an amazing school year it's been! I am so honored to get to work with your students and be a part of the Burrell Arts community. Thank you for allowing me to care for your students and partnering with me to help keep them healthy and safe at school.
With the end of the school year coming up, there are important things to address and talk about for the upcoming school year.
Medication Pick Up:
If your child has medication at school I will send a letter home with specific information about picking it up. It is important that you pick up all medications by the last day of school, Thursday May 23rd, or I will have to dispose of the medication. There are some medications I can send home with your student but many need to be picked up by an adult. Please look for details in the letter of how your student's medication must be handled to get home.
Immunizations / Vaccinations:
If your child is due for immunizations, they will need to be given over the summer before the start of the next school. Arapahoe County and our School Based Health Clinics can help get students up to date on their immunizations at little to no cost. Once they are immunized, please bring the updated shot record at the beginning of the school year. If your child has a non-medical exemption, remember the paperwork needs to be updated each school year and must also be turned in at the start of the year.

Medications for next year:
If your student requires medication at school, it is required they have a medical order from their doctor and medication with a pharmacy label. Medication can be turned in on the first day of school. It is important to know that I am not able to give students their medication without medical orders. Please reach out if you need new medication order forms or if you have any questions. Medicaid Assistance:
If you need help with medicare enrollment or have any questions about Medicaid, please reach out to Rosa Perez at 303-326-1485 or email her at riperez@aurorak12.org.
Updated Medical Information:
If your student has any new medical conditions diagnosed over the summer or if their medical condition changes, please let me know so I can help support your student here at school. This might be a new food allergy or a new medication that needs to be taken at school. This information can be reported on the Student Check-in on the Parent Portal or you can contact me at the beginning of the school year.
I hope you all have a wonderful, healthy, and safe summer. Remember to apply sunscreen, wear helmets, and have lots of fun in the beautiful sun!

Burrell Arts Family & Communuity Updates
It brings us immense joy and pride to share some of our first-year successes as a Community School! We've completed a thorough school community needs assessment with input from students, families, staff, and partners, shaping our plans for next year.
This year, we've established partnerships with over 20 organizations like Redline Contemporary Arts Center, Creative Remedies, Friends for Youth, and Eye Love Care, enriching our students' experiences. Check out our Quarter Three Memo for more highlights!
At Burrell Arts K8, we've prioritized creating an inclusive environment beyond the classroom. Through Community School initiatives, we've actively engaged with partners, recognizing their vital role in student success.
