Good Afternoon,

We hope your family had a wonderful break. We were excited to welcome our students back to the nest! This week we spent time reviewing our HOOT expectations. Students rotated with their class to several stations in the building to review how we should behave. Please ask your child about what they learned and if they don't remember, you can show them the slides below!

There is no school on Monday, January 16th.

When we return next week, Tuesday, January 17th, is a PRETEND MONDAY.

SAFETY REMINDERS:

There is no left turn out of the parking lot onto Olive Street during arrival and dismissal times.
Please follow the bus stop signs when we are loading students onto the Olive buses. We have noticed several cars that continue to drive past the busses when the stop signs are out and bus doors are open. We do our best to load the busses as quickly as possible to prevent traffic back up.

OMS - Reading Night Returns!

Save the Date, Thursday, January 26th for a fun family night of reading and activities. A special presentation will occur in the Commons that connects to our One Book One School, but we are keeping the title of the book and presentation a surprise for now! More information will be coming soon!

Erin's Law Presentations

"Erin’s Law, Illinois Public Act 097-1147, requires public schools to provide child sexual abuse prevention education for students in early childhood through twelfth grades. During the week of January 23rd, 2023, our school social worker (Mrs. Peterman) will work with each grade level to provide age appropriate information. Erin’s Law information and curriculum information can be found in this slideshow. The optional opt-out form can be found on the District’s website."

Parents are welcome to join the OMS kindergarten teachers on Feb. 7th from 6:15 - 7:15 to learn about kindergarten, meet the PTA, sign up for summer play dates, and tour the school.
