Weekly Update 9.9.24
Franklin Middle School
9.30.24
Dear Franklin Families,
We are now in full swing at school, and students should be familiar with the routines and procedures in their classrooms and around the school. Please note that no further schedule changes will be made until the second semester.
I’d also like to share some exciting news: our beloved art and drama teacher, Mrs. Abbott, has been promoted to assistant principal at Adams Middle School. While we are in the process of interviewing candidates to find a suitable replacement, we are not moving students out of their current art/drama classes.
Additionally, a district communication was sent out regarding the ongoing bus driver shortage. As a reminder, when bus routes are canceled, it typically affects both the morning and afternoon routes. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges.
We also want to remind you about our progressive discipline policy for bus misbehavior. Students who do not follow bus expectations will face consequences, including potential bus suspensions.
On a positive note, we are currently in the midst of our cross-country, volleyball, and soccer seasons. We want to wish all of our athletes the best of luck in this week’s competitions!
As a reminder, students must earn a wristband to attend sporting events by using their PBIS Hornet Points. They are required to leave at dismissal and return for the game. During these events, students are expected to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and safety. This includes using appropriate language in the stands and ensuring the sporting environment is enjoyable for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support!

October PBIS Focus- Hallway Expectations
Uur PBIS focus for the month of October is on Hallway Expectations! We encourage all students to be mindful of the following: make sure you're getting to class on time, keeping the hallways clean by throwing away trash and food wrappers, walking calmly—no running—and showing safe and respectful behavior. Let’s work together to create a positive and orderly environment in our school!

Please see the attached document for an overview of some keys policies pertaining to cellphones, headphones, earbuds, hats, hoodies and backpacks. We will review these policies with students during our grade level assemblies.
