Graduation Regalia (Please Read)
Graduation Regalia:
GHS supports all of our students' involvement throughout campus organizations in their years as a Mustang. However, for our formal graduation ceremony on 5/23, please make note of the following details:
- Only GHS-approved graduation cords (honor societies and service organizations) and stoles (NHS and AVID only) will be permitted to be worn on the day of the ceremony.
- If you have not received a cord or stole through a GHS organization, please do not wear them to the ceremony.
- Students may wear any UIL medals earned while at GHS.
- No other graduation regalia will be permitted to be worn on the day of the ceremony, including cultural and or college/university representation. These other regalia are great for graduation parties, family celebrations, etc. However, they will not be allowed on 5/23 for the GHS graduation ceremony.
- Caps may not be decorated on top.
Graduation Dress:
- Graduation is a formal event. Please plan to wear formal dress to the ceremony.
- Males need to wear long pants and a dress shirt. No flip-flops or tennis shoes. No sunglasses.
- Females may wear pants or a dress. No jeans or ripped apparel will be allowed. No sunglasses. Please ensure you can comfortably walk in your shoes.
Graduation Safety:
- For the safety and security of all graduation participants, each graduate will be searched before entering the staging area at UTA College Park Center on the day of our graduation ceremony.
- There will be no phones or purses allowed in the staging area. Our Yearbook Advisor, Ms. Jordan, will be on-site taking candid photos throughout the event; those will be shared on GHS website under the graduation link.
After our mandatory graduation practice at GHS, students who wish to participate in this tradition can catch a bus to and from CMS and GMS. All former CTMS students will walk to that campus. If you’re a former HMS student, please provide your own transportation to HMS and check in through their front office with your GCISD student ID. **Students must provide their own transportation to their former elementary school to take part in the walk at those locations at 2:00 PM.**
All grads must have their GCISD student ID visibly displayed on their person to participate in this tradition.
Any parents wishing to view their graduate’s senior walks can check in through the Raptor system at the front office of the campus they’re visiting. Please allow plenty of time to check in before the walk is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM (middle schools) or 2:00 PM (elementary schools).
Seniors- Laptops with stickers fee
Seniors, please make sure you remove all stickers from your laptop. If you return a laptop during Mustang Round Up or when you unenroll and have not removed any stickers you will be charged a $100 fee for technology having to remove them. If you have any questions please reach out to our technology office at GHS and we will be happy to help.
Senior Surveys
We kindly ask that all seniors also fill out this Scholarship Survey to let us know how much money you have been awarded in scholarships. This helps the district celebrate the total dollar amount of scholarships our seniors receive. The information contained in this survey is confidential.
In addition, if you have not already done so, we ask that Seniors please fill out the required Senior Exit Survey. This is different from the Scholarship Survey. Please do this before Mad Dash.
