NEW - Scurry Fundraiser Update
WE DID IT!!! We reached our school goal of raising $47K to fund field trips for all grades, classroom furniture, and playground enhancements! Not only did we reach our goal - when we include check/cash donations received, we actually raised over $50K!!! Thank you, Coyote Creek community! We have let staff know that they can start planning field trips for this school year, so keep your eyes peeled for future updates from your classroom teachers!
Prize Day will be next Wednesday, September 25th! This is when students will receive any physical prizes that they earned from the Scurry, as well as the experiential prizes - jumping in the inflatables, taking a turn in the giant hamster ball, etc! We are confirming our final tallies and the winning classrooms for K-2nd and 3rd-6th grades will become the proud owners of their giant stuffed animal Class Mascots next week! And mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 9th for our school-wide Pajama Day!
NEW - Cross Walk
Reminder: If there is a Crossing Guard in the intersection with their sign, do not try to drive around them (even to turn right). Please wait until all the children and the Crossing Guard are safely on the sidewalk.
Thank you

October Count - September 25th - October 8th
What is October count as defined by the CO Department of Education?
Each year all public school districts and facilities across the state of Colorado participate in the Student October Count data submission to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). The purpose of this data collection is to obtain required student level data as provided for by state statute, including information regarding students’ funding eligibility as outlined in the Public School Finance Act of 1994, as amended (22-54-101, C.R.S.). The Colorado Department of Education collects these data through the Data Pipeline system with the Information Management Services (IMS) unit of CDE overseeing the collection.
The Student October Count is based on a one (1) day membership count in which districts are asked to report all students who are actively enrolled and attending classes through their district on that date. While the submission should only include those students who meet the membership and scheduling requirements as of the pupil enrollment count day, the actual submission process begins in September and closes mid-November. Districts should refer to the Student October Count data submission documentation distributed by the IMS unit at CDE for further information regarding the actual submission process and data element definitions.
Pretty Much... It is how we get funded. So, we need your students to be in school as much as possible during this time.
Thank you!
4th Grade Recorders
Hello 4th grade families,
CCE Music will start recorders soon. If you have not already done so, please log into your My School Bucks account and go into the CCE Store (then click on 'Browse All'). You will choose the 24-25 4th Grade Recorders. The quicker your students have their equipment, the more time we will have to work on them this year! If you have any questions about recorders, feel free to reach out to me (Mrs. Balchuck) at esbalchuck@dcsdk12.org or if it is a question regarding MySchoolBucks, you can contact Hayley in the front office.
Thanks so much,
Mrs. Balchuck
