A message from the Principal - Mrs. Bookman
Dear Suffield Family,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fall Fundraiser. The top salesperson was Brookelynn from Miss Merz's room. The Kalahari Overnight Stay (with 8 tickets) Drawing winner was Allen from Mrs. Fuerst's room. Congratulations to both of these students on these top prizes. Those who earned the Limo Lunch ride will be heading out next Friday! For those invited, a special permission slip was sent home. Be sure to return that ASAP!
Monday we celebrated Veterans Day! What a wonderful day it was. We had nearly 100 veterans come to school. We celebrated them with a program and patriotic sing-along. It was great to see all the Veterans at our school!
Finally, please consider supporting our local food shelf with a donation of canned goods, cash, or checks (payable to the Randolph/Suffield Food Shelf). Each dollar is equal to 2 cans donated. The class with the greatest number/student donated will win a pizza party from the PTA. Let's work together to support our community.

Families in Need
Planning for the holidays comes earlier and earlier each year! If any assistance is needed for your family this year, you can contact Mrs. Bookman no later than Monday. Several area organizations often reach out to our school to help families, but if we are not aware of your need, assistance cannot be obtained. Please send a note to the office, or email Mrs. Bookman at shawn.bookman@fieldlocalschools.org if your family is looking for assistance for the holidays.
Thanksgiving Dinner At Suffield Elementary
Our wonderful cafeteria staff will be preparing a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner for us on Thursday, November 21st! They will be serving turkey & gravy with a dinner roll, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a pumpkin square as Choice # 1, or a PBJ sandwich with a nutrition bar and string cheese as Choice # 2. The students and staff always look forward to this day! Let's all thank our cafeteria staff for their hard work preparing this awesome Thanksgiving meal!
Canned Food Drive
Our annual canned goods drive will begin Monday, November 11th! Each grade level will be tallying the total canned goods collected. The winning grade will get a Pizza Party sponsored by our PTA. Please send in any items until November 22nd. We look forward to continuing to support our local Suffield Randolph Food Shelf. If you would prefer to not send in canned goods and would like to contribute cash, each $1 will equal 2 canned goods. Checks can be made payable to the Randolph Suffield Food Shelf or cash will also be accepted. Be sure to include a grade level on the envelope.

Friendly reminder to check the Lost and Found when visiting our school!
We're thrilled to welcome you to our school, whether it's for a parent-teacher conference, a special event, or just to spend some time with your child's class. As you explore our wonderful learning environment, we wanted to take a moment to remind you about an important stop you can make while you're here - our Lost and Found!
Our Lost and Found is a treasure trove of forgotten items, from jackets and lunch boxes to water bottles and notebooks. Sometimes, the smallest and most valuable items end up there, waiting to be reunited with their owners. We encourage you to check the Lost and Found area located near the gym while you're visiting.
We also recommend labeling your child's items with their name and contact information to make it easier for us to return lost items promptly.

Substitutes Needed
We are now hiring classified substitute workers for various roles, including Playground Monitors, Educational Aides, Cafeteria Workers, Secretarial Staff, Custodial Staff, Bus Aides, and Bus Drivers. A current BCI & FBI background check is required before applying for any substitute position. Some positions may also require an aide permit, which the Administration Office can help you obtain. You have the flexibility to work the hours that suit you, and you'll be on call to cover for regular employees. For more details or assistance with the application process, please contact Bev Bable at the Administration Office beverly.bable@fieldlocalschools.org.
Birthday Treats
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
Suffield CARES
Suffield CARES helps provide “short-term emergency needs” to families in Suffield. If you are in danger of having your electric or heat terminated, being evicted or have other emergency needs, call Mrs. Bookman at school or Chief Rasnick at (330)628-9240.
