  • Lakeville South High School selects Brent Goracke as the next Head Boys Baseball Coach On December 18th, Activities Director Chad Sexauer announced the hiring of Brent Goracke as the next Head Boys Baseball Coach of Lakeville South HIgh School. Coach Goracke grew up in Morris, MN, where he played varsity baseball for three years. He went on to pitch at Mankato State University under Coach Dean Bowyer. After Mankato, Brent played amateur baseball for the Class B Waseca Braves for 3 seasons under Manager Tink Larson. Brent eventually landed in Jordan where he was Varsity Pitching Coach for 2 seasons (2010-2011) for the Hubmen, and then in 2012 he became the Varsity Head Coach. He was Head Coach in Jordan for 10 years and helped lead the Hubmen to Minnesota River Conference (MRC) Champions (2013 & 2019), Section Champions (2018), and a 4th place finish in the Minnesota State High School Baseball Tournament that same year.


    Brent has been blessed with great coaches and players, and was acknowledged as the MRC Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2019, and Section 2AA Coach of the Year in 2018. He was also honored to be chosen to coach the Metro South Minnesota Play Ball All Star team in 2018. His knowledge of baseball has proven to be pivotal in the success of the teams he has coached/managed and the players that have moved on to play college and amateur baseball. He has also coached and mentored players at all levels of play, from youth programs through past and current collegiate players, as well as many Minnesota

    amateur players.


    Brent came to Lakeville South High School in 2022 and assisted former Head Coach Bill John during that varsity season.

  • Update from South Dakota Mines: Scholarship Deadline: January 15, 2024 Our Future Hardrockers are a big deal. They put in countless hours crunching calc, studying for exams, and keeping that GPA in tip-top shape. Students with over a 3.0 unweighted GPA and 24 on the ACT/1160 on the SAT are automatically considered for scholarships. Our scholarships make South Dakota Mines an even sweeter deal. And our return on investment is incredible too. If you have students that would automatically be awarded a scholarship, make sure they are accepted to South Dakota Mines by January 15th! Apply here.

  • Indigenous Tuition Opportunity Two new initiatives will be called the Wisconsin Tribal Educational Promise program will begin in fall of 2024. The University of Wisconsin–Madison will offer financial support to cover the full cost of pursuing an undergraduate degree for Wisconsin residents who are enrolled members of federally recognized Wisconsin Indian tribes addtionally, a 5-year pilot program will cover in-state tuition and fees for students pursuing a J.D. (law) or M.D. (medical) degree who are Wisconsin residents and enrolled members of federally recognized Wisconsin tribes. More information: https://financialaid.wisc.edu/types-of-aid/
