Thanks to the hard work of the 2023-2024 Site Based Team, GC Tech EMT students will be able to work in an ambulance simulator. The ambulance has the same internal dimensions and many features of an actual ambulance, including sirens and lights!

We are also thankful for the generous donation of Wantagh Fire Department's gear rack, and the work of Nassau BOCES Barry Tech's welding classes who customized the gear rack to fit in our space.

The Cosmetology and Esthetics team just got even stronger! All members of the department hold NYS licenses in their field.. Our students will be able to interact with a variety of staff with a diverse experiences.

This year our main cosmetology teachers are Mrs. Sabrina Hyland and Mrs. Grace Emmerich, who are both experienced teachers and licensed cosmetologists. We are thankful that Mrs. Jennifer Reichert, a licensed cosmetologist who covered in Mrs. Hyland's absence last year is remaining on the team as a teaching assistant. We are joined this year by Mrs. Mercedes Piazza, an experienced and licensed cosmetologist and former chemistry teacher! Mrs. Piazza is also bilingual.

In esthetics, Mrs. Veronica Korologos is returning to teach esthetics as we expand our curriculum for it's full two-year sequence. Mrs. Korologos is a licensed esthetician and owner of Essential Skin Care and Acne Treatment. As owner/operator and lead esthetician, she provides direct patient care, treatment planning and product education to her clients. She also creates and implements educational training sessions and workshops for clients, fellow estheticians and other local businesses, including spas.

We are very excited about the level of experience and expertise that are offered in our cosmetology department. We look forward to a very productive year!

Completion & Certificate Ceremony

Our culminating ceremony is held at Wisdom Lane on June 4th. (NOT AT GC TECH!)

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The ceremony begins promptly at 6:30 pm.

Yearbooks - free

Caps and Gowns - free (gowns must be returned)

Lost ID cards - $5 per lost card. We challenge all students to not incur this fee
