Note from Dr. Mullenschlader
This week we welcomed parents to attend our first Home and School Association meeting. The Home and School Association is doing great work in planning events this year that celebrate our community. Stay tuned as we communicate those events throughout the year. Also, the HSA can always use volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, you can reach out by email at hsa@borromeoschool.com. One upcoming event that I know will be a lot of fun will be Trunk or Treat. Trunk or Treat will be on Friday, October 20, so make plans to be there. We have an early release that day, so there will be plenty of times to get the kids dressed and get back up here for the event. There is a flyer in this newsletter that provides further details of Trunk or Treat.
This weekend is the Parish Picnic. I know there will be great fun had by all! Please come up and enjoy the festivities. We are off school on Friday of this week to allow the picnic team to setup the grounds.
Next week is our Virtue Mass on Friday, October 6. After Mass, we will be recognize the students who practiced the virtue of courtesy in an extraordinary way. I have seen so many students display manners and be so polite this month. I am beginning to think that we need to have courtesy be the virtue every month 😄.
Have a blessed weekend!

Courtesy is the virtue by which we recognize the value others have as sons and daughters of God.
Some saints that are examples of courtesy are St. Paulinus of Nola, St. John Neumann, St. Nicholas, and St. Rose of Lima
Here is a prayer for the children to say at home: Dear Jesus, Help me to show respect toward others in my words, manners, and actions.
Scriptures to read on courtesy: Luke 14:7-11, Genesis 18:1-5, John 20:2-6, Acts 15:12-14
