October News from Mill Creek
Mill Creek Mission Statement: Is to ensure individual success and personal development for every student, by cultivating opportunities that equip, empower, and educate all to excel.
From the Principals- October means end of 1st quarter (wow what a fast quarter) and Parent/Teacher conferences. A Sign-up Genius will be coming out shortly to sign up for P/T conferences. PLEASE find 15 minutes to sit down with your child's teacher. It's so important and the only scheduled time we have together.
You will be given lots of data on your child at the conference. We want you to understand it all and have a clear picture of where your child is as a learner. The teacher will outline an educational plan for your child. We need the home/school partnership for the plan to work. Ask what you can do as parents to help your child. Ask what we the school will be doing. We want your child to succeed!
From the Nurse: On Friday, October 11th, Cass County Dental will be at school to perform dental screenings on our students. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Comstock at acomstock@bsd124.org.
From the Office: Please do not let car riders out of your car until you see the adults come out to greet them in the morning (8:18) The car rider line went quicker today. Please do not drop your child off in the area around the school and have them walk up to school to avoid the car rider line.
Walkers/Bike Riders- have been showing up as early as 7:30. Again, they can't enter the building until 8:18 and we do not have supervision until then. If your child walks or rides their bike please work on their timing to arrive at school between 8:18 and 8:35.
From the counselors:
With Red Ribbon week in October, the counselors will be visiting classrooms with lessons focused on making healthy choices and positive routines and habits. Students will also be introduced to the school-wide Kindness Tree project, which our 6th graders contributed to last school year.
