Nursing Notes
During these winter months, we usually start seeing more illnesses as children spend more time indoors. Below are a few reminders to consider:
- Students must be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
- If your child has been vomiting or has diarrhea, please do not send your child to school until they are able to tolerate solid foods without vomiting or having loose stools.
- If your child needs to take medication during the day (either prescribed or over the counter), a parent or guardian needs to fill out a medical authorization form and turn into the nurse. Medication needs to be brought in by an adult.
Behavior Expectations
Our Behavior Matrix guides our commitments and expectations for each day.
As we continue through the more dreary months, and oftentimes face less sunlight and outdoor activity, behaviors can tend to escalate at this time of year. We appreciate your continual conversations with your child about their day, including their choices.
You might even consider setting a commitment goal with them at home using the Matrix. What will you work hard on this week? You can then revisit this commitment each evening as you discuss your child's day with them.
Let's work hard to be our best, do our best, so we can achieve our best as we move through 3rd Quarter!
