CLASS OF 2024 BACCALAUREATE MASS & RIBBON CEREMONY
On Wednesday, May 15th, eighth graders had their Baccalaureate Mass today. During this Mass, we celebrated our graduates’ connection to St. Viator Parish School with the traditional ribbon ceremony. Our students read aloud to share what ribbons mean to us.
"We've made it! We are graduating soon! Ribbons stream downward and we look at them proudly as a badge won after eight years of hard work. They are a recognition from our school, from our principals, our teachers, our pastor, priests, and brothers that today is our day to be honored. Ribbons are a sign and symbol of celebration! Let us celebrate these ribbons as ties of blue and gold that bind us to St. Viator Parish School, to each other, and to Jesus."
Each member of the St. Viator Parish School Class of 2024 receives this ribbon, which will bind them to the history of this school forever.
We thank staff member Mrs. Janet Santos for making the 8th grade ribbons for the Class of 2024. We thank our students and our families for joining us in the Baccalaureate Mass today, and we thank Father Rinn for presiding in our school's last Mass of the year.
4TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO RED ROCK CANYON CONSERVATION AREA
The 4th Graders had a wonderful field trip to Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area. We hiked the Discovery Trail, and learned about various plants and animals. We learned about the different types of rocks and rock formations. We learned about the Native Americans that lived in Red Rock long ago. We were fascinated to learn about how the Native Americans used all of their natural resources. Our guides were so knowledgable that we gained a wealth of information. We were even able to see a seasonal waterfall! After our hike, we enjoyed a picnic at Willow Springs. It sure was an educational and fun day!!!! ~Mrs. Forsythe
5TH GRADE TEA PARTY
The 5th grade students got a taste of what the colonists felt with “no taxation without representation!” Last week the Queen (Dr. Kiss helped out in a very convincing role:) taxed their A.R. Points!! The 5th grade protested of course which resulted in an escalation of said taxes! Their final recourse was to stage a “St. Viator Tea Party” in the queen’s office!! Tea bags everywhere!!:)
It was successful! The taxes were repealed!!:) ~Mrs. Dorough
SUPERKIDS CELEBRATION AT SVS
The Kindergarten, First and Second grade students celebrated a successful year of their Superkids reading program by dressing up as their favorite character.

EXTENDED CARE NEWS
2024-2025 CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS
Dr. Kiss and Mr. Mertzman are involved in all discussions about classroom placement with teachers. We anticipate using the following info to determine student placement: class dynamic, student academic and behavioral need, student/teacher compatibility, student/student compatibility, groupings for pull-out intervention, Micah presence.
Parents please know that teachers do not split classes, this is an administrative decision and that there is not a way to request a certain class or teacher for the next year. Please email Dr. Kiss and Mr. Mertzman with any questions or concerns.
MORNING DROP-OFF REMINDER
We have noticed students being dropped off and left unattended prior to 7:35. If students arrive to school before 7:30am, students need to utilize Morning Care. Any student found outside unattended will be checked into Morning Care and charged accordingly.
NO RUNNING DOWN THE SIDE WALK
Parents and students we need your cooperation as we remind families to walk safely as they exit the school. There is to be no running down the sidewalk or along the dirt. Parents please make your children walk with you and do not let them run. Our goal is to keep all of our students safe!
STAFF PARKING LOT CONCERNS
The Staff Parking Lot off Eastern Ave is assigned for staff parking, assigned foundation parking, handicapped parking, and school visitor parking only!! This lot is not for student drop off and/or pick up. Parents and Visitors are STILL parking in Foundation Spots. We have resorted to placing cones in those spots to keep these spaces reserved for the intended families. The Foundation spaces are purchased annually and no one else is able to park in these spaces for any reason. This includes: dropping off a student, dropping off a lunch, picking up a sick student from the office, or any other reason.
The Staff Parking Lot off Eastern Ave is assigned for staff parking, assigned foundation parking, handicapped parking, and school visitor parking only!! This lot is not for student drop off and/or pick up. Please do not use this lot because it is closer, or that you do not want to use the loop, or that you do not want to use the church lot. We have had numerous traffic jams due to people using this lot when they should not be. We are also receiving complaints from those individuals who are authorized to use those spots as well as delivery drivers who are authorized to use the loading zone.

VIATOR PARISH TUITION RATE REMINDER
The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes.
In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:
- Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
- Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
- Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.
DO NOT
- Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
- Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
- Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.
Tuition review will happen end of November and you should have 13 or more masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed and possibly adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the December statement. Please DO NOT call or email the school office or church office to ask if changes are being made until after the receipt of your statement.
Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.
