Edgewood's Tiger Talk
September 20th, 2024
Family Meetings!
Students met with their families again this afternoon. Normally, families meet once a month. It helps to build community throughout our school.
Ask your child about his/her family!
We are committed to our journey of developing EACH child to be an inspired learner and a caring, contributing citizen.
Principal's Update
(1) The FUN RUN--first off, thank you for your support with this! We have nearly 40% of students registered, and as of today, have raised just over $9,400. This money goes directly to pay for experiences that enrich the learning of Edgewood students. Students in each grade level go on field trips that are fully funded. Our goal is to have memorable, traditional field trips that students look forward to in each grade. Our goal is to raise $20,000; every $5, 10, and 20 donation helps us get there! https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/event-webpage/658457aa2f39e
The run itself is something students think is fun. Music blasts, kids run/walk, go through a balloon arch and get a new stamp each lap. If you'd like to come and cheer them on, come! 3rd-5th graders will run from 1:45-2:15, and 4K-2nd will run from 2:30-3:00 on Friday, September 27th.
(2) Parent -Teacher Conferences are coming up. They will be on Thursday, October 10th from 2pm-7pm, and Friday, October 11th from 8am-12pm. A sign-up will come out next week. Children do better in school when school and the family work in partnership. We have conferences to build this partnership; please plan to sign up and come.
(3) Bookfair is coming! It will be during the week of conferences. You'll be able to send $ for your child to shop during lunch/recess, or you can shop with them when you come for conferences. Profits from the Bookfair help to pay for One Book One School, which we'll do late this fall. (During one book, one school, each family gets a copy of a book and we read a section each night together).
Last Call for Spirit Wear!
Orders must be in before midnight on September 22nd. Click HERE to order.
Orders will be delivered in ~3 weeks.
4 Square
This recess game is an oldie but a goodie. Students learn to win and lose all in an active format.
GaGa Ball
This is a more inclusive version of dodgeball. It is a favorite of our 3rd-5th graders at recess.
Chillin' in the Sun
We're getting more use out of the climber these days! The Tiger Playground will be completely replaced. We're currently working with vendors to make selections.
