Congrats to all the students who performed in the Fall Choir Concert this week!

A 90% excused attendance rate is mandatory for the Homecoming dance. If you are planning on bringing a friend, stop by the office and pick up a dance permission form. Once the form is filled out, bring it back to the front office or during ticket sales from October 14th-16th.

We would love your help with this year's Homecoming Dance on October 18th from 8 - 10:00 p.m. at Golden High School. Please review the available slots here and sign up for an open time. You can sign up for one or multiple shifts. Thank you!

There's still time to sign up for the 8th Annual DEMON DASH 5K Race/Walk this Sunday! Walkers start at 8:45 a.m., and the race kicks off at 9:00 a.m. Enjoy great weather while supporting GHS student clubs, athletics, and programs. Can't make it? After the Demon Dash, keep the fun going and support the GHS Marching Band! Join us in the GHS cafeteria from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. for a delicious pancake breakfast. For just $10, you'll get 3 pancakes and 2 sausages, with all proceeds benefiting the band.

Attention Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth graders! The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be offered on November 14th at GHS in the library. This standardized test measures your skills in areas like verbal and mathematical reasoning, general science, and mechanical comprehension. It's a great tool to help explore potential career paths, including those in the military.

Parents: Want to learn the real impact of THC and other drugs? Join Officer Hyde, GHS School Resource Officer, at October’s Parent Academy on October 24th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the GHS auditorium. The session includes a powerful video from a Douglas County parent who lost her son to THC, followed by a presentation from a certified drug recognition expert from the Golden Police Department. Get informed and ask your important questions about THC and other substances.

Attention Seniors! It's crunch time—this is your final weekend to wrap up your Common Application before submitting it during the 2024 Free Application Days! Need help? Our counselors will be available in the GHS library on Tuesday, October 15th to provide last-minute assistance. Make sure your application is mostly done so you can get personalized guidance.

Reminder: If you haven’t picked up your school photos yet, stop by the Main Office during lunch or an off block! Dorian will be back for picture retakes on October 25th, so make sure you have your photos before then if you’re considering a retake.

Hamlet Tickets and Season Subscription Packages are now available for purchase at stagerightgolden.org. With only 45 seats available each night, we encourage you to plan ahead and buy your tickets early!

Golden had a strong showing at the recent race in Nathrop, CO! In the final event before the State Championships, the Demons had a firm grasp as the points leader all through the day finishing a whopping 255 points ahead of second place. Overall, we are holding a firm grasp at first place with a 500-point season total lead! Leading the cause, Riley Nelson dominated by securing 1st place in Varsity Girls and solidifying her position as the points leader heading into State. Max Behm and Maggie Reid both claimed 3rd in their respective Varsity Boys and Girls categories, setting them up for a strong run at the state title. Brenden Beer crushed the JV Boys race, finishing 2nd with one of the fastest times of the day, while Freshman standout Owen Roberts also took 2nd place in his category. The entire team showed tremendous growth and grit in this crucial race, giving them great momentum for the State Championship. Let’s go Golden!

Winter Sports Registration opens this Friday, October 11th! Be sure to complete your registration by November 11th. Starting in the 2024-25 school year, CHSAA will require a new Sports Physical Clearance Form. If you haven’t had your physical yet, please use this form moving forward.

The Jefferson County Alpine Ski Team is looking for new recruits. Join us on Thursday, Oct. 24th at 6:30 p.m. to learn more! We will meet in the Evergreen High School library for a short informational meeting about the ski team and what we’re all about. Coaches and racers will also be there to provide additional information.
