We know our students, their parents, their hopes and dreams. We are busy assessing, challenging, and nurturing. September also brings national celebrations such as Labor Day, 9/11 Remembrance, and the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month. September is also National Suicide Prevention Month. The sacrifices and losses of many paid for today's privileges, and it asks that we pay forward.


And so we go. This Post offers several opportunities to learn, share, and grow. As we stand together for the good and the benefit of our schools, we hope to journey with you, fostering hope in our communities, and strengthening our students. Please let us know how we may best serve you.

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

You are invited to join the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on September 25 and 26 for the 2024 National Summit on K-12 School Safety and Security. This virtual event brings together K-12 school leaders and practitioners to discuss and share actionable recommendations that enhance safe and supportive learning environments.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Summit. This year’s event will feature panel discussions, sessions and keynote speakers covering topics such as violence prevention, emergency planning, youth online safety, student mental wellness, K-12 cybersecurity and student interventions and support. These sessions are designed to foster a nationwide dialogue on some of the most critical school safety issues, as well as equip school stakeholders and personnel with resources, training and best practices to apply in their local K-12 communities.

Cultural Inclusiveness and Equity WISE

Classroom WISE that helps educators equitably support students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic communities.

Similar to Classroom WISE, Cultural Inclusiveness and Equity Well-being Information and Strategies for Educators (CIE-WISE) is a FREE 3-part training package for educators and school staff that consists of an online course, video library, and resource collection. Developed by the Central East MHTTC and National Center for School Mental Health, participants in the online course will:

  • Understand how social injustices impact student mental health
  • Understand how educator bias impacts student mental health
  • Engage in culturally inclusive action to promote student mental health
  • Learn how to support students experiencing distress from a culturally inclusive & equity lens

You can access the complete list of learning objectives for CIE-WISE here. The online course consists of four modules, and after completing all four modules, participants will receive a certificate of completion for 2 contact hours.
