National Hispanic Heritage Month
According to the 2020 National Census, an estimated 18.7% of the American population identified as Hispanic/Latino. That is 62.1 million people, an increase from 50.5 million people in 2010, which equates to a huge 23% jump. The contributions of Americans of Hispanic and/or Latino heritage should be recognized and celebrated all year long—their history is our shared American history.

Oasis Count in October
Parents,
October is a very important month for schools in ASD. This is the period when our school district has to report to the state of Alaska schools' student attendance for funding purposes. It is of extreme importance that all of our students come to school every day, but especially in October. Let's fill the seats so that we can get credit for all of our students registered in our school! Thank you kindly for your support!
Parent Volunteers
Hello Parents,
I am so glad that this year has started on a positive and joyous note! We need your support! Many tasks or jobs are completed for the direct help with students and support of our staff because of your dedication to our school. Please let us know if you are available to assist with the following.
*Classroom project preparations (Art)
*Classroom interventions
*Arrival Procedures
*Dismissal Procedures
*EACS PTO
When you have chosen your activity, please contact the front office by phone (907)742-3025 or email EACSFrontOffice@asdk12.org.
Academic Practice
EACS Families,
Did you know we have a way for you and your child(ren) to get more practice with Spalding phonograms on our website. Just visit https://www.asdk12.org/eagleacademycharter. Once there, choose "Families" then "Phonograms". There are videos made by our very own Mrs. Timberlake. Remember, this is a team effort to get our students the help they need to be successful in our wonderful school.

Inclement Weather
Parents,
Please ensure your child has appropriate gear for outside as the weather changes. We live in Alaska and students are outside in drizzle rain and temperatures above -10 degrees fahrenheit.
Sponsor an Afterschool Activity
Looking ahead. We are hoping to find a handful of parents who would like to earn school service hours by sponsoring an after school activity next fall. After School Activities (ASA) will start approximately mid-late September and run through the first week of December (12 weeks) and are typically one day a week for an hour of instructional time. Parents who lead an activity will be able to help fulfill their annual school service required of 16 hours.
If you have a special skill, talent, or hobby that you would be willing to share with students please contact the front office.
Some Possible Activities Include:
Quilting/Sewing
Digital Photography
Dance
Ukulele
Beading
Chess club
Drama
Cross Country Running*
And More
*Running club will begin soon after school begins to prepare for the Beach Lake Jamboree in September.
