Dear Charger Families,

Happy Friday! We hope you are ready for the long weekend. We've had a great week at BMSS. We held pictures during ELAR classes this past week. If your child missed getting their picture taken, we will have a make-up day soon. Date TBD.

Grandparent's Lunch:

Is this week... Friday. We know not everyone has a grandparent and that's okay. Grandparents are our heroes and we are grateful to have them in our lives.

Logistics:

-Can bring a lunch and bring a lunch for their grandchild if they wish

-We ask that grandparents not bring food for their grandchild's friends

-Grandparents are required to get a visitors pass in the office. PLEASE BRING AN ID

-We will have tables available inside the café as well as under the shade/patio

To help with visitor passes, you can have your child's grandparent register below and we will have the visitor pass printed early and ready to go when they arrive.

SRO Russell:

Is currently filling in as our School Resource Officer. We are grateful for his support of teachers and kids. He officially works for the Boerne Police Dept but is assigned to our campus full time. If you have questions/concerns or would like to reach out to him about anything he would be happy to visit. His contact: sro.james.russell@boerneisd.net

Yearbooks 24/25 School Year:

BMSS will be moving to a new yearbook vendor: Varsity Yearbooks.

Yearbooks for the 2024-2025 school year are now available for purchase. Special price until September 15 is $35. After September 15 the price will go up to $40. Order at https://prod.yboc.varsity.com/general/displayLanding?portal=true

JOIN PTO:

We would love to have 100% family participation with our Parent Teacher Organization. Be up to date on all things BMSS and join PTO. They are always looking for ways to connect with families and support our school. Use the following link for more information:

Boerne ISD will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 2.

Classes and regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3.

Communicable Illnesses-Exclusion from School

We are back in school which means we are back to fighting germs. Please take a moment to review when it is appropriate to exclude students from school. It should be noted that we no longer have quarantine periods for illnesses such as COVID.

• Fever > 100.3° F - fever free for 24 hrs without the use of fever-reducing medications
• Chickenpox - may return when all lesions are dry
• Conjunctivitis - may return when symptom free or when released by medical provider
• Diarrhea - may return after 24 hours without diarrhea
• Impetigo - not excluded if drainage can be contained and bandages are clean and dry
• Ringworm - not excluded if area is covered at all times
• Strep throat - must be on antibiotic for 24 hours and meet fever criteria
• Vomiting - may return after 24 hours without vomiting

Honors Drop Window:

The Honors Drop Window is September 3rd - September 20th. A Schedule Correction Request Form is available in the Front Office. A parent/teacher conference must happen PRIOR to the drop request. Please return the completed and signed form to the Counseling Office by September 20th.

Elective Change Requests:

Requests to change an Elective Class will not be approved due to large class sizes.

Pre-Athletics/PE Classes:

Pre-Athletics is a group within the PE class that the coaches create. No schedule change will be needed from the Counseling Office. It will not appear differently on the student's schedule.

Families are encouraged to complete the application for Free and Reduced-Price School Means available here or return the completed paper form to any campus office.
