Dealey Community
4/15/24-4/19/24
Mission
The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
We are Better Together!
Greetings Dealey Community!
Every day in our school community we are all charged to work towards the common good. As adults we exemplify the type of behavior that we expect in our students. Our foundation is firmly established in the Montessori concept of “Grace and Courtesy”. There are four principles that the Grace and Courtesy curriculum encompasses: treating the child with respect, teaching the child to respect themselves , teaching the child to treat others with respect, and teaching the child to treat their environment with respect.
Here in the Dealey community, we believe that “We are Better Together”. This can be a very stressful time of the year for us all. Anything that brings division or discord in our community will be addressed immediately and appropriately by campus administrators. We continue to believe in the power of assuming positive intent in all circumstances.
“Whatever anybody says or does, always assume positive intent. You will be amazed at how your whole approach to a person or problem becomes very different.”
-Indra Nooyi
We look forward to our continued partnership with all our Dealey stakeholders.
“We are Better Together!”
Middle School Dance Code of Conduct
This year the PTA middle school dance committee and campus administrators have collaborated on a student behavior contract. Every middle school student that is attending the dance, must sign the contract along with their parents. We look forward to an amazing middle school dance experience. We are Better Together!

Zero Tolerance Policy on Hate Speech
Our school mission states we provide an exemplary Montessori education that empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society. Here at Dealey, we have a zero tolerance policy for any form of hate speech stemmed from negative biases. All students that are using any form (race, religious, etc.) are placed on mandatory in person parent conference and issued additional actions (consequences) in accordance with the Dallas ISD Student Code of Conduct. You will receive a notice from the Dealey Dignity Center regarding all discipline escalated to the Assistant Principal and/or Principal’s office.
A very special thank you to the parents that have already completed these mandated parent conferences. Your support is paramount and we look forward to our continued partnership with your family.

Upcoming SBDM Election Info
What does SBDM do?
Dealey’s Site-Based Decision Making Committee (SBDM) serves as an advisory council to the Principal. Every public school in Texas has an SBDM to help the Principal achieve school goals. The SBDM is comprised of the campus Principal, teachers, school staff, parents, and business/community representatives.
SBDM works with the Principal to address issues identified by the Principal in support of the Campus Improvement Plan. The Principal is responsible for and makes final decisions on the instructional and operational functions of the campus. But the SBDM is her partner in helping the school achieve success.
SBDM works with the Principal of several areas of school governance, including::
· Monitoring progress on Campus Needs Assessment/Campus Improvement Plan
· Academic progress
· Safety and Security
· Strategically marketing Dealey to existing and new families
· Ensuring community health and wellbeing (will focus on middle school next year)
· Diversity, equity, and inclusion
SBDM is a great opportunity to get directly involved in helping Dealey achieve great outcomes for our students and families.
Election Info
Parent, business, and community representative members of SBDM are elected by the Dealey parent base or are nominated by the Principal. There will be two openings, each serving a two-year term to commence on June 1st, 2024. If you would like to be added to the ballot, please fill out the online form at the web address below by April 5, 2024. The online election will run April 11-18, 2024.

Theatre in Schools Month! (March)
The month of March is historically when we celebrate and talk about the power of #TheatreInOurSchools every single day. And yet, we can advocate for its inclusion all year long!
Join us and thousands of students and theatre educators to raise awareness of the benefits of theatre education. Together we can draw attention to the need for more access to theatre education for all students. Help spread the message to your communities—friends, family, social media followers, school boards, elected officials, and more—that theatre education teaches vital 21st-century skills critical to success on and off the stage!
Here is a great video to promote the arts- It is our month 🙂

SchooLinks is a college and career readiness program that helps K-12th grade students discover their interests and strength, explore colleges and careers, and create a personal graduation plan that best reflects their post-secondary goals.
The district mandates that kindergarteners choose one to three jobs they are interested in. This must be completed in Clever. Tablets are required for students complete this task.
Based on the shared schedule, my goal is to work with small groups in my office. Please be aware that the timeline could change depending on how soon I can finish working with each group.----------------------------------
