Principal's Message
Good evening Mira Loma Families,
Our eighth week of school was highlighted by a group of students who were selected as Semi-Finalists for the National Merit Scholarship! The Semi-Finalists are Tanay Bodducherla, Celina Chen, Otis Crowder, Nicole Hou, Nishanth Karanam, Arnav Mahendra, Arya Morasa, Dilshodbek Namozov, and Nandini Prasad. Congratulations to our Semi-Finalists!
On Monday evening of this week, I had the opportunity to watch our Girls Flag Football team in action against Wheatland High School. Our girls did an excellent job competing and lost a very close matchup 27-21. They represented Mira Loma High School well. Great job ladies!
On Wednesday morning of this week, we held our first Safety Team Meeting of the 2024-25 school year. Thank you to all who attended and shared your feedback and suggestions regarding school safety at Mira Loma High School. We encourage families to continue to have discussions with your children about school safety and how to report if they have knowledge of a concern. Please see the yellow “Safety First” icon below for additional information about how to report a concern. We look forward to continuing our conversations about school safety, and growing our partnerships with students and families in an effort to keep our campus safe.
On Friday and Saturday of this week, the Mira Loma High School Drama Program opens with its first production of the 2024-25 school year, “Can I Tell You a Secret?” Please see below for show times and the location of the Fall Play, along with ticket prices and a QR code to purchase tickets in advance. Please support our Mira Loma High School Drama Program!
This coming week, October 14th-19th, marks Homecoming Week! With multiple activities and athletic events happening, please consider coming out to support our students, athletes, coaches, and school programs this week!
Athletics as a whole are in full swing this week, with Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Girls Flag Football, Girls Volleyball, Football, Boys and Girls Water Polo, and Girls Golf all competing. Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches, and parents for your continued dedication and positive representation of Mira Loma High school. As our Fall Sports Season continues, our Winter Sports season is quickly approaching. Please be sure to begin scheduling your sports physicals now to ensure that athletes are cleared in time for participation.
Please reference the addition of our Mira Loma Student Government Newsletter below for important information and upcoming events. In addition, our Lunchtime Intramurals are officially underway. If students are interested, please have them see Mr. Ashwell or Mr. Posner for more information about upcoming lunchtime activities.
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Mira Loma High School and I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,

Volunteers Needed
Hello Mira Loma Community,
The 8th Annual Flat SAC Invitational is the largest cross country meet in our region and a favorite race for teams as far away as Fresno and Reno. With over 4,000 athletes, coaches, spectators, and volunteers like you, it is the largest event hosted by Mira Loma. In 2023, a record 124 teams with over 2,200 runners raced at Gibson Ranch. The numbers are trending higher this year.
Your help is needed to construct the start and finish area, set the course, act as course monitors, direct vehicles for parking, and set up registration and volunteer tents. We need cyclists to lead and trail races and volunteers are needed to stuff race packets.
Enough volunteers are assigned so everyone can take breaks throughout the race day. Volunteers are not expected to work continuously. Most positions have natural breaks. Lunch will be provided for volunteers.
Please sign up to help. Your participation means so much to me, and the runners and coaches who attend.
Thank you for your support!
Coach Paul
