Research Future Travel Destinations Together
If your family is thinking about taking a trip, involve your child in learning about the places you might visit. Together, look the places up on globes, maps and online. Check out some travel books from the library. Help your child look online for a newspaper from an area you may visit. Or visit an area Chamber of Commerce website to find out more about attractions and request brochures.
Help your child find out about the history of some places you may go through on your journey. Did famous battles occur nearby? What famous people came from the country, state or city where you will be? Learn about other things, too. What's the population of the places you'll visit? What is the official bird and flower?
Having your child do a little research before taking a trip will make the experience more interesting for all of you when it actually happens.
