Principals Message
Dear Washington Families,
The school halls are a buzz. We are entering our last week of school. It is an exciting time. A lot has happened at Washington this year. Events, celebrations and lots of learning. Student and teachers are ready for a break and great weather.
As the school year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the remarkable journey we've shared together. From the first day of school to the present moment, we've seen our students grow, learn, and achieve so much.
As we look ahead to the summer break and beyond, let's celebrate the achievements and successes of this past year. Let's cherish the memories we've made, the friendships we've formed, and the lessons we've learned together. And let's approach the future with optimism, knowing that with determination, perseverance, and a supportive community by our side, there's no limit to what we can achieve.
On behalf of the entire Washington Elementary School family, we wish you a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall for another year of growth, learning, and success.
Let's continue to make Washington an amazing place to learn and grow. Thank you everyone and Go Eagles!
Warm regards,
Alfredo Belanger - Principal
Antonio Ramos - Asst. Principal
What's happening at Washington?
Washington Eagles take the Cup!
This year marks the second season of our Elementary soccer team. Coach Perez, Coach Reyes and Coach Lugo trained super hard with our 5th grade students. All that hard work paid of when our students were victorious in their two games against the Lincoln Dolphins and the Nellie Muir Lions, bringing the Griffin Cup to Washington! Thank you coaches and students for an amazing fun season. Thank you Washington for cheering them on at the games. Nothing like a great pizza to celebrate.
Book Buck Winners!
Our Book Buck reading contest was a great success this year. All classes competed to win as many Book Bucks by turning in Book reviews for books that they read. There were 2 review forms: 1 for Chapter books that students complete after each chapter for 1 book buck, and 1 for Picture books that students complete after each picture book they read. Students read books or articles at their independent reading levels in order to receive a $1 book buck for each review. Our students spent their book bucks during Library class, or when Mrs. Veliz, our amazing librarian, came with the mobile cart to classrooms on Wednesday mornings. Our winners for this quarter was able to go on a field trip to Linda Letra Bilingual book store. Ms. Gavina's 4th grade class were the winners of the trip. Read on fourth graders!
Shh... We are reading!
So many to choose from.
