Fast Friday Facts

This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent, and with it the HOPE, beauty and busyness of the Christmas season! Our December calendar will be packed full of spirit, fun, faith and learning, and will be continuing to evolve. Please watch for weekly updates to stay informed!

Please also watch for report cards that will be emailed home to parent / guardians today from your classroom teacher.

Sunday Dec. 1

- Advent begins! We light the purple candle of HOPE! Please feel welcome to join us for a student lead Mass at 11:00am at the Immaculate Conception Church!

Monday Dec. 2

- Staff meeting, all students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. Please ensure that your student knows their safe plan to get home at that time.

-T2 CTF (Career and Technology Foundations) classes begin for Junior High students!

-Our annual classroom Door Decorating contest begins, "decking the halls" with student artwork, and reminders of the reason for the season!

-We kick off our "Spreading the Love" contest! Throughout the month, students who are caught sharing love through acts of kindness will be entered into a fun draw for a great prize basket in the office, sponsored by the Education Foundation!

Wednesday Dec. 4

- Cash Hot dog pre-orders are due to the office for lunch on Thursday.

-The Grinch's Holiday Hijinx begins! The Grinch has stolen the letters of a festive message and hidden them around the school! Can our Saints solve this jolly jumble before the holidays?

Thursday Dec 5

- Hot dog day!

-Log into PowerSchool Parent Portal to order our next vendor based hot lunch, crowd favorite Pizza Hut! Orders must be placed by midnight for lunch to be served on Thursday December 12th. unfortunately we are unable to refund in the event of a student absence.

-Kindergarten and grade 3 classes will welcome members of the Sexsmith Fire Department into classrooms for important safety lessons.

Friday Dec. 6

-All are welcome to join us at 10:40am as our grade 2 class host an Advent Prayer Service in the gym. This celebration will be immediately followed by our monthly Virtue Awards!

-Feast of Saint Nicholas! Our Saints celebrate the kindness and generosity of St. Nicholas with a sweet treat from a special anonymous Mrs. Clause!

Sat Dec 7- Immaculate Conception Church hosts a clothing, baking and cook book sale!

Sun Dec 8- Second Sunday of Advent: PEACE.

Mon Dec 9- Peaceful Pajama Day

Tues Dec 10- Wacky Holiday Hair Day

Wed Dec 11- Mad for Plaid Day! Booster Club's 50/50 Draw!

Grade 1 will be collecting new toys, gifts, games and gift cards for the Sexsmith and Area Food Bank's Christmas Hamper program. Donations can be dropped off in the office. Thank you for making Christmas even more special for children in our area!

All Around Saints’ City MicroSociety, students have entered into MicroUniversity! Through academies centered on leadership, management, entrepreneurship, investment and more, they’re exploring a wide range of essential topics—from budgeting and quality control to team building and innovation. These hands-on lessons are equipping our students with real-world skills, preparing them for bright and successful futures!

Quick shout out to our parent volunteers who put in extra time, effort and love into our school! Thank you for all that you do!

Huge congrats to our Atomic Volleyball team who celebrated a season of growth! This team showcased their hard-earned skills in friendly tournament action with our friends at RWZ. A huge thank you to Mrs. Sage-Oake, Mrs. Howard, and Mr. Stewart for their dedication and guidance in helping our young athletes thrive this season, and RWZ for the invite to play!

Tired of the same old sandwiches? We’ve got you covered! Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal and order hot lunches from our favorite vendors. Orders for our next Hot Lunch, crowd favorite PIZZA HUT are due on Thursday December 5th at midnight, for lunch to be served Thursday December 12th. While in PowerSchool, feel free to order ahead for lunch in January, it's a one-stop shop! (Reminder: Orders close about a week before the scheduled date, so you don’t have to order all at once, but you can if that's easier for you!)

St. Mary's does not charge base fees for the academic year, however, certain programs do have fees attached.

Fees for our Pre-K program are due monthly by the 5th of each month.

Junior High CTS classes have been invoiced and emailed home. Statements will reflect fees for the whole year, however, only fees associated with Term 1 are past due.

Extra Curricular and sports teams also have fees attached, and are due before the first event for each team.

Fees can easily be paid online through the PowerSchool Parent portal, or in person in the office. Please don't hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for payment.
