Superintendent Community Update

Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
Graduation season is in full swing across the Jefferson Union High School District, and we are proud to celebrate eight graduation ceremonies that honor the accomplishments of our incredible students across all programs and campuses. These ceremonies reflect the diversity, dedication, and success of our learners, and the many paths they’ve taken to reach this milestone.
This week, we celebrated the achievements of students at Thornton High School, The Bridge Program, Jefferson High School, Terra Nova High School, and later today, Westmoor High School. Next week, we look forward to honoring graduates from Oceana High School, the Adult Transition Program, and Adult Education.
Graduation is more than a ceremony—it's a powerful moment of reflection and hope. It marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. At JUHSD, we are honored to have been part of our students’ educational journeys, helping instill a lifelong love of learning that will guide them wherever they go.
To all of our graduates: Congratulations! We are proud of your achievements and excited for your future. As you move forward, remember to find joy and passion in what you do—success will surely follow.
Warm Regards,
Toni Presta
JUHSD Superintendent

Local Control Accountability Plan
Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is California's new funding system that allows school districts to direct resources and services to meet the needs of low-income students, English learners, and foster youth. LCFF requires each school district to adopt a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) that shows how funds will be spent to provide high-quality educational programs and improve student outcomes.
Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
The Local Control Accountability Plan is a three-year district plan that details how funds will be spent to improve student outcomes. The LCAP must address the Eight State Priorities and include stakeholder engagement, goals and progress indicators, and actions, services, and expenditures.
2025-2026 LCAP Executive Summary
IT Department Announcement: Chromebook Safety Alert
We want to alert families to a dangerous TikTok trend called the #ChromebookChallenge, where students intentionally damage their Chromebooks by tampering with the charging port or battery. This can cause permanent, hidden damage and poses a serious fire risk due to the instability of lithium-ion batteries.
Students are responsible for the care of their district-issued devices. Please talk with your student about the dangers of this trend and encourage them to report any unsafe behavior through the STOPit reporting portal or contact a School Administrator.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe and tech-ready.
