HELP!
Asking for help can feel intimidating, especially if you're worried about being judged or thinking you should already know the answer. However, it's important to remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Teachers are here to support our students, and they want to see everyone succeed. Everyone needs help sometimes, and no one is expected to have all the answers. By reaching out, you not only get the support you need but also show that you're committed to learning and growing.
Overcoming the fear of asking for help is crucial for students’ development in high school because it helps build confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the material. High school is challenging, and it's impossible to tackle everything on your own. Asking questions and seeking clarification shows that you're taking responsibility for your education, which is an important skill for your future academic and professional success. The more comfortable you become with asking for help, the easier it will be to overcome obstacles and stay on track toward your goals.
from Matthew 7:7-8
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
This passage emphasizes the importance of asking for help, both from God and from others. It reminds us that God is always there, ready to respond to our needs when we seek His guidance or assistance. It encourages the act of asking as a way of opening ourselves up to receiving the help and blessings we need.
Have a great weekend Hurricanes!

Planned Absence of 2 Days or More
Students who need to miss school for a college visit, athletic event or field trip, funeral, vacation, or other pre-arranged absence MUST obtain their assignments before their departure. Parents may email the Dean’s Office or leave a message on the attendance line to begin the process; however, parent notice must be presented a minimum of one week in advance of the planned absence.
Students will be given an Advanced Leave Notice form to complete and return. Advanced Leave will not be granted during the weeks of semester exams. All missed assignments that are indicated on the Advanced Leave Form are expected to be turned in on the first day the student returns to school
Late Start Days - School is Open Early
On late start days, if your student needs to be dropped off at the regular time, please feel free to do so. The school doors are open and students can wait in the commons area while the teachers are in meetings. Please call the office if you have questions.
