Dear Woolie Community!

As November unfolds, we find ourselves in the midst of a vibrant and busy month at MMJSHS. With a calendar filled with academic, athletic, and extracurricular events, we’re embracing the energy of a short yet impactful month. From sports tournaments to our Fall Play, our students are thriving in a wide range of activities that not only highlight their talents but also foster a strong sense of community and school spirit. These experiences outside the classroom, coupled with the hard work within, are a testament to our commitment to creating an rich educational experience for our students!

In addition, we’re excited to have recently embarked on our second semester. This fresh start brings new opportunities for students to deepen their engagement in their studies, challenge themselves, and achieve their academic goals. Teachers and staff are dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences and ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to think critically. We look forward to the achievements and growth that the remainder of the school year will bring. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create a thriving school community.

We will be hosting a student luncheon for this years recipients of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship winners on November 22 @ 11:00 in the Media Center.

This year's award winners will receive their award letter during the luncheon and our school counseling department will provide students with an overview of the award.

This luncheon is for students only.

If you have a student that is interested in Art and looking for a fun month challenge, look no further! Our amazing Art Department has created a monthly art challenge to engage our Woolie Artists outside of the classroom. Check out the image for more information.

Check out what's going on in the School Counseling Department for the month of November.

The Millbury Parents Club will be having their November meeting on Tuesday, 12th at 7 p.m. in the Shaw Elementary Library. We'll have our usual faculty presentations and business but will also be hosting a number of members from the MPS district leadership team for a meet 'n greet. It's a fantastic opportunity to get to know our leaders and their roles within the district in a casual setting.

As usual, we will have our Kidz Korner open and it will be staffed with members of the National Honor Society that will be available to play and do crafts with small children. We hope to see you there!

Term 1 officially ends on November 1.

The Marching Band will be competing in Lawrence on November 3 beginning at 1:00 pm.

Term 2 Begins November 4 and ends January 24.

Our Pre-Apprenticeship cohort will be attending the Carpenters Union on November 4.

We will not have school on November 5, as it is a Presidential Election Day.

School will resume on November 6.

Identified Students will be participating in the MCAS ELA Retest on November 6 and 7. Students and families have been notified.

The November meeting of the SSAB will be taking place on November 7 in the Media Center.

Our annual Veterans Day Assembly will be taking place on November 8 at 8:30 in the Media Center.

Report Cards will be ready for viewing in the portal on November 12.

Identified Students will be participating in the MCAS Math Retest on November 11 and 12. Students and families have been notified.

We will be hosting our Fall Concert on November 14 in the Auditorium.

The Sophomore Class will be hosting its Ring dance on November 15 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm in the Gym.

This dance is only for MHS students.

Student Council will hosting its Calendar Raffle Fundraiser on November 18.

Our ELA department, in partnership with the Lions Club, will be hosting the annual Lions Club Speech Contest on November 20 in the Media Center.

The Sophomore Class will be hosting a Red Robin Fundraiser on November 21. A percentage of all items purchased, will be donated to the class.

We will be hosting our annual John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Luncheon on November 22 in the Media Center.

Students will have a presentation from guidance recognizing the award. They will be presented with their letters at the luncheon.

This is a student only event.

The Senior Class will be hosting a 3v3 Basketball tournament on November 23. If you student is interested, please have them see a class officer or our senior class advisors, Ms. Hinchey or Mr. Economos.

The Millbury Booster Club will be hosting its Fall Scholar Breakfast on November 23 @ 7:40 am.

Our annual NHS New Member Induction will be taking place on November 25 @ 6:00 pm.

Mr. MacCreery and our Athletic Department will be hosting the Winter Meet the Coaches Night on November 26 @ 6:30 in the Auditorium.

All Winter athletes and their families are required to attend.

Our annual student Wellness Day will be taking place on November 27.

Dismissal at 11:00 am.

Thanksgiving break will run from November 28 - December 1. Students will return to school on December 2.

We will be hosting our Thanksgiving Day Football game against David Prouty on the morning of November 28, starting at 10:00 am.
