Process
Students can only take up to 1.0 credit over the summer, unless it is approved by the Division Head of Student Services, Katie Davis. Counselors will contact you regarding signing up if your student received any NMs this school year, or if they need to get back on track to graduate with their class. If you have any questions regarding Summer School, please check in with your child’s counselor.
Additional Information
Students will keep the NMs earned on their transcripts from the failed course. Completed Summer School courses will not replace the NMs on the transcript. Completed Summer school courses will be added to the students transcript as a separate course/credit earned.
Students will primarily be utilizing the Illinois Virtual School Program for their Summer School programming. Students will have the assistance of an in-class teacher as well as a content area specialist through Illinois Virtual School. Students can work on their course materials outside of class to finish course materials quicker.
Students that are specifically recovering English and Math credits will do so through CANVAS and direct instruction from an RHS content area teacher.
