For many this time of year is the season of giving thanks and a reminder to practice gratitude. According to the research, actively and intentionally practicing gratitude does the following:

• Helps us cope with stress
• Regulates our emotions
• Makes us happier
• Improves our health (mental and physical)
• Nurtures relationships
• Activates learning

At school, we are introducing new Dolphin Pride tickets. These Dolphin Pride tickets are our way of celebrating the big and small accomplishments of our students. As a site, we want to collectively notice and name when we see/hear students making a SPLASH. A student can earn a ticket at any time by any staff member! Tickets can be turned in for a classroom incentive or for a school wide incentive of a chance to pick from the Dolphin Treasure chest.

At this time of year we are especially grateful that you and your family are a part of the Jones community. We hope you had a joyful week and look forward to seeing you Monday morning!

The Police Youth Advisory Committee has created a gun violence prevention presentation and we are sharing this campaign with our parents and guardians.

• The SD Loyal is offering four (4) single-day camps for students ages 6-16 through their Google sign-up form, for $100 per camp. The camps will feature soccer players such as Camden Riley, Tumi Moshobane, Blake Bodily, and Evan Conway, plus other special guests and SD Loyal merch giveaways.

• The November 12 camp has passed, but the following days are available for sign-up: December 3, December 10, and December 17.

Our Parent Teacher Association works with Jones Elementary to provide programs and support to benefit the students, their families, teachers, school administration and the community. Run entirely by volunteers, the PTA raises money to support enrichment programs, program instructors, educational assemblies and field trips, family events, and special classroom supplies.

As always, we need your membership, support and ability to volunteer. You can become a member using Totem, a respected membership management service. Please contact us with other thoughts on how we are doing, and your ideas on how you can become involved. We look forward to hearing from you.
