Flower Valley will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th. We will celebrate Latin American cultures through music, dance, literature, and some of our own Flower Valley students! On October 1st students will participate in an assembly from the Latin American Musical group Cantaré called Mucha Música-A Musical Journey to Latin America. Teachers will read books by Latin American authors and illustrators. Our weekly announcements will also feature some of our very own Fireflies highlighting their Hispanic heritage!

MCDOT would like to better understand the safety needs and concerns of parents and students as they walk/roll, bike, or scooter to school. They are asking for your input via the survey linked below.

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed via this link: Safe Route to School for Students - Montgomery County, MD (montgomerycountymd.gov)

The FVES staff and the PTA work collaboratively to host a variety of events during the school year. Some of the events we are excited to offer are math and reading nights, STEM Night, International Night, a winter musical production, staff/parent basketball, Career Day, our annual carnival, and so much more. We will keep you updated regarding the details of the events throughout the school year. Tentative dates are included below. Please note these dates are subject to change.

Our PTA Meeting Tuesday, September 24th in the APR from 6:30pm-8:00 pm will have childcare AND dinner provided! ALL parents are welcome! (Non-members and members). Please look for the RSVP form coming soon! We'll have an opportunity for parents to chat and meet by grade level, provide an overview of PTA events and activities this year, and have a principal's update.

The parent handbook provides a wealth of information about school policies and procedures. Some of these include volunteer procedures, school parties and birthday celebrations, bullying and harassment reporting, visitor policies, attendance, health policies, safety and security, and so much more.
