Re: 2023 - 2024 Federal Report Card
Dear Parent and/or Guardian,
I am writing to inform you that the 2023-2024 Federal Report Card (FRC) is posted on the district’s accountability website.
Summary of Federal Report Card (FRC)
The FRC is a report required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). Each year, TEA prepares a FRC for the State as well as each district and campus in the State. FRCs for the State, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available at the link provided above.
If you have any questions concerning the FRC, or if you would like a printed copy of the FRC, please contact Belton ISD at 254-215-2000.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kimberly Winters
Comic Book Artist Inspires
A huge thank you to comic book artist Rob Willis for an inspiring Zoom session with our students during lunch. He shared his incredible artistic journey, gave invaluable industry advice to our aspiring artists from Mr. Mel's Graphic Design program, and truly connected with our students. A massive shout out to Mr. Mel and Mr. Doble for making this fantastic opportunity possible!
🎉 Belton New Tech Earns AP Bronze with Access Award!
We’re proud to announce that Belton New Tech has been recognized on the AP School Honor Roll at the Bronze level with the AP Access Award! This distinction highlights our commitment to expanding access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses and ensuring students are equipped for college success.
To earn this recognition, schools must meet rigorous criteria tied to building a strong college-going culture, increasing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and encouraging a balanced AP experience throughout high school. The AP Access Award celebrates schools that prioritize equity and opportunity in advanced coursework.
Congratulations to our students and staff for this incredible accomplishment! Their hard work and dedication to academic excellence continue to pave the way for success.
Absences and Missing School for Flu-Like Symptoms
If your child is sent home sick, by the school nurse, with a fever, they are NOT to come to school the following day. This will be an excused absence. Please help us try to lessen the number of influenza cases throughout our campuses by keeping your child home from school if they are displaying any symptoms of the flu.
If your child visits a provider, please request a doctor’s note with dates that cover your child’s absences and turn it in to your child’s school. Turning in notes during an illness is crucial for complying with the Texas Compulsory Attendance Law, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the student's academic progress. It helps classify absences as excused, prevents truancy issues, and allows schools to provide necessary support.
