Cascadia Tech News
October 2024
From Our Director
We are off to a great start and in full swing of learning here at Cascadia Technical Academy. Our students are already participating in internships, and community service events, and student-led businesses are starting to open for the year.
Construction Technology's 47th student-built house is for sale. Continue reading for more information.
I’m looking forward to the months ahead to watch our students continue to learn technical and professionalism skills in their program areas. Our students can accomplish anything they put their minds to.
We are doing great things!

Welcome New Staff
Christine Matthias, Registrar
I’m excited to be joining the team at Cascadia Tech Academy! As a longtime Vancouver resident, I feel deeply rooted in Evergreen School District. I attended Evergreen High School, then worked in private industry before starting in the district where I’ve spent the last 27 years as the Registrar & Counseling Secretary at Wy’east. My husband works at Mt. View and we share three children together: Abbie (graduated from HeLa), Hallie (Mt. View), and our son Easton (Wy’east). As a family we enjoy camping, traveling with our kids’ volleyball and baseball teams, and spoiling our dog, Moxie.

Sophomore Presentations
Select Cascadia Tech staff and students will be making presentations to sophomores at high schools in SW Washington starting in January. For most students, this is the first time hearing about the opportunities that are offered to them as juniors and seniors.
All Sophomores will be able to sign up to tour Cascadia Tech in January. Permission field trip forms will be handed out during the presentations at your sending high school.
Please reach out to your high school counselor with any questions.
Work Out. Give Back.
Work Out. Give Back. Join us! For our second annual give-back workout(s).
The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than to give back to a local organization supporting students with the knowledge and skills to lead a successful life, and career.
Join us at Live Fit Studios for a workout benefiting Cascadia Tech Academy, who are serving students right here in SW Washington.
You’ll have two classes to choose from:
9:00 am - Full Body Strength
10:00 am - Core and Conditioning
In lieu of a class registration fee, we ask all participants to bring a minimum donation of $25 (cash or check made out to Cascadia Tech Academy Foundation). Live Fit Studios will be matching all donations up to $500. Our team will hand deliver donations to the Cascadia staff. Space is limited, so register ASAP!
Annual Pumpkin Competition
Hospitality & Tourism students coordinated the annual campus-wide pumpkin competition. Students were encouraged to create the best pumpkins to showcase their programs.
Students and staff had a chance to view all submissions and to vote on their favorite.
Snacks for Students
Students unfortunately arrive at school hungry each day. We do not have vending machines or a cafeteria on campus for students. We have a pantry available that is running low on supplies. If you can, your generous support is needed.
