Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
We will begin with A-block on Tuesday morning and follow a Day 1 schedule (see below).
Upon your arrival, please remain in the cafeteria until the 7:20 am bell rings. Feel free to enjoy breakfast as, once again, all meals are free for the 24-25 school year regardless of a family's financial status. (See information below regarding information about qualifying for other school fees).
Below, you will find the schedule for school pictures, class meetings, and 9th grade Chromebook distribution.
First block starts promptly at 7:30 AM! Every day matters! We can't wait to see you!
Arrival and Dismissal
When dropping off students, please observe the traffic pattern pictured below.
- Do not enter the bus loop.
- Do not enter the first row of the parking lot. That row is reserved for our mobility impaired students and staff.
Afternoon Pickup: Students are dismissed at 2:03 PM.
In the afternoon, families may line up in the front bus loop, starting on the far end of the building over by the gym. The picture below illustrates where afternoon cars can line up. If this loop fills, vehicles should utilize the two drop-off rows in the parking lot.
District Bus Routes
2024-2025 Transportation
If you are unable to access Aspen, families with students that are eligible for transportation (see eligibility guidelines below) should review the bus routes for their student’s school to find the bus number and bus stop that is closest to their home.
All students are automatically assigned to a bus number and bus stop (if eligible determined by First Student software). Bus number and bus stop are subject to change each year depending on enrollment.
Transportation Eligibility Guidelines
- All students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 living more than one mile from their assigned school are eligible for Transportation.
- Students that live under one mile from their assigned school are considered "walkers" and are not eligible for transportation services.
- Eligibility is determined by First Student Bus Company software.
- Safety issues are taken into consideration when determining transportation eligibility as well.
Families/students, please remember there is a 10 minute window at the bus stops for estimated pick up and drop off times posted on our bus routes.
Grade 9 and New Student Chromebook Distribution
Grade 9 students will receive chromebooks over the course of the first two days of school.
Students who have yet to return their previous chromebook or charger will not receive a new one until they return the old device and/or pay a fee for a replacement.
ARC
ARC stands for Academics, Relationships, and Community. It is our "flexible scheduling" block that students can utilize to complete homework, receive extra help, or participate in a variety of enrichment or community building activities.
For the first few days of school, students will report to their ARC Advisor during this period. The name and location of students' ARC advisors is viewable in ASPEN as part of students' schedules.
Reduced Fee Waiver
Even though school breakfast and lunch will be free for students throughout Massachusetts, we encourage families to complete the district paperwork for free and reduced fees.
Successful completion of these forms can support in the reduction of athletic and other school-based fees that students may incur.
The applications are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Student Cell Phone Policy
We want to remind students and families about the school's policy regarding cell phones, earbuds, and other electronic devices. Please review it as a family before school starts.
The goal of this policy is to minimize distractions from learning and create space for students to make connections face-to-face and not through a screen.
CELL PHONES, EARBUDS/HEADPHONES, and OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Possession of and the use of electronic devices during the school day is a privilege. Administration may revoke this privilege and prohibit any student from bringing electronic devices onto school property for any reason deemed appropriate. Students may use their electronic devices before school and after school as well as during lunch (in the cafeteria) and passing period.
Upon entering classrooms, students will be expected to store their cell phones in a dedicated space in the classroom. If appropriate, teachers may allow the use of electronic devices to compliment classroom instruction. If students refuse to comply with this policy, the teacher may take the device away or send the student to the main office to give the device to the appropriate Administrator. Confiscated devices will be secured by the Administrator. The Administrator will determine appropriate consequences as well as how the device will be returned to the student and/or parent/guardian.
**Parent/guardian Calls and Text Messages**
Parents/guardians should be aware of class schedules so as not to disturb students in class with cell phone calls or text messages. Parents/guardians are asked to direct emergency calls through the main office. There may be rare or extenuating circumstances that would require a student to have access to their phone during class for personal use. If there is such a need that might result in an emergency phone call, students should communicate that need to their teacher.
Student Schedules
Students can view their complete schedule in Aspen:
- Log into Aspen
- Select My Info (top tab),
- Select Current Schedule (side tab),
- Select Matrix view
- Select "FY" in Time dropdown menu
Paper copies of schedules will not be printed. Students are asked to have a screen shot of their schedule available on their phone or on their Chromebook in their ASPEN account.
