Principal's Message
Good morning Mira Loma Families,
Our seventh week of school was highlighted by a group of students who had the opportunity to visit UC Davis on a College Field Trip on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Students were joined by Mr. Bender, Mrs. Garzona, Mrs. Garwood, and Mrs. Parker. The event was well-attended and students enjoyed a wonderful experience at UC Davis. Thank you to our students and staff who attended!
In addition, our Mira Loma High School Speech and Debate Team received an award in late September from the National Speech and Debate Organization. The team has been officially designated a member of the 100 Club for the year 2024. This places us in the top of the nation’s most competitive teams for the second year in a row. Very proud of their work! Great job Speech and Debate Team and Mr. Stinson!
On Thursday evening of this week, I had the opportunity to watch our Girls Volleyball team in action against Marysville High School. Our girls did an excellent job competing in some very close matches and they represented Mira Loma High School well. Great job ladies!
Athletics as a whole are in full swing this week, with Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Girls Flag Football, Girls Volleyball, Football, Boys and Girls Water Polo, and Girls Golf all competing. Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches, and parents for your continued dedication and positive representation of Mira Loma High school. As our Fall Sports season continues, our Winter Sports season is quickly approaching. Please be sure to begin scheduling your sports physicals now to ensure that athletes are cleared in time for participation.
School safety has been a significant concern amongst students, families, and staff over the span of the last seven weeks. We appreciate all constituents who have contacted us. We value your communication and feedback. We encourage families to have discussions with your children about school safety and how to report if they have knowledge of a concern. Please see the yellow “Safety First” icon below for additional information about how to report a concern. We look forward to continuing our conversations about school safety and growing our partnerships with students and families, in an effort to keep our campus safe.
Please reference the addition of our Mira Loma Student Government Newsletter below for important information and upcoming events. In addition, our Lunchtime Intramurals are officially underway. If students are interested, please have them see Mr. Ashwell or Mr. Posner for more information about upcoming lunchtime activities.
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Mira Loma High School and I wish you all a wonderful 3-day weekend!
Sincerely,
Kaden Bahner

Community Resource Spotlight-Housing Help
Volunteers Needed
Hello Mira Loma Community,
The 8th Annual Flat SAC Invitational is the largest cross country meet in our region and a favorite race for teams as far away as Fresno and Reno. With over 4,000 athletes, coaches, spectators, and volunteers like you, it is the largest event hosted by Mira Loma. In 2023, a record 124 teams with over 2,200 runners raced at Gibson Ranch. The numbers are trending higher this year.
Your help is needed to construct the start and finish area, set the course, act as course monitors, direct vehicles for parking, and set up registration and volunteer tents. We need cyclists to lead and trail races and volunteers are needed to stuff race packets.
Enough volunteers are assigned so everyone can take breaks throughout the race day. Volunteers are not expected to work continuously. Most positions have natural breaks. Lunch will be provided for volunteers.
Please sign up to help. Your participation means so much to me, and the runners and coaches who attend.
Thank you for your support!
Coach Paul
