Parents/guardians and students can access their bus stop location, route, and pick up time on the Tyler's My Ride K-12 mobile app. The app uses vehicle GPS geolocation to show bus arrivals each day. Access to real-time data ensures that students are at the right place at the right time.
- See stop location, assigned route, and scheduled pick up time
- GPS geolocation shows when to expect the bus each day
- Consistent and up to date with registered routes
The new ID Cards will be distributed in the first few weeks of school. Students will swipe the card when entering the bus, showing parents where the student is at and estimated time of arrival. My Ride K-12 can be accessed via the web or mobile app.
- Secure and confidential log in
- Intuitive interface
- Android / iOS app or via the web
Notifications of bus route changes will be made through Ride K-12 as soon as cards are distributed. If you are unable to access Ride K-12, you can log into Skyward to access student bus route information.

Free & Reduced Meal Applications
The federal Free & Reduced Meal Applications are now available. We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to submit a Meal Application. Completing an application takes less than 10 minutes, and parents only need to complete one Meal Application.
Appplications are only available in paper for and can be downloaded from our website. Please submit them to the Food Service Department at YCSfoodservice@ycs.wednet.edu. Once you submit an application, you will receive a notice as to whether your child/children can receive free or reduced-price meals.
If you qualified last year, your benefits will expire on October 15. Be sure to get your application in to avoid any meal changes.
EVERY ELIGIBLE FORM COUNTS! Every eligible form that is not submitted means lost resources for our schools.
Supporting Yelm Students
We are thankful to many groups/organizations who are stepping forward to volunteer and support our students. A few highlights are below. If you want to help out, connect with these organizations or visit our website for more details.
Thank you Total Sport Development (TSD) and the greater Yelm Community for donating $44,551 to support Yelm High School C Team Sports. What a timely effort just before fall sports started. Earlier this summer, TSD met with Supt Woods to discuss the cost of running the program and how the commnity could help fund the program.
Pride of the Prairie Campaign
Olympia Federal Bank launched the Pride of the Prairie Campaign, an initiative to rally support and raise funds for student programs. OlyFed is going to contribute $7,500 to kickoff and seed the fund. One hundred percent of the proceeds contributed to this fund will go to the district’s ASB account, which will be used for athletic programs and after-school activities that were impacted by budget cuts.
Learn more about how Oly Fed wants to "...give our Yelm youth a healthy and safe place to learn, grow, explore their interests and take part in experiences."
School Supply & Hygiene Drives
Huge shout out to the 12 businesses that collected school supplies and Little Red Schoolhouse that donates materials to all the schools across Thurston County. Without our mighty team of volunteers, we would still be unpacking, sorting and distributing supplies to the schools.
This weekend, Sold by Platt Home Team and the Yelm Rotary kicked off a Hygiene Drive. You can drop off items and designated local businesses or the district office.
Contact your school if you need school or hygiene supplies.
Parent Organizations
Each of our schools has a recognized Parent Organization. These non-profit organizations are run by volunteer board members and host events and fundraising activities throughout the year to support the students and families of each school or specific ASB organizations. Each school website has contact information on how to get involved. There are a variety of activities from working with students in the classroom or behind the scenes preparing materials. Volunteers must complete an online application and be cleared by the district
Check you school website for details about activities and events to kick off the school year.
