A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
Hello Eagles. Just a couple of housekeeping items to keep in mind for when we return from Spring Break. I told students this morning that we will be cracking down on the non-uniform compliant socks and gum chewing. I have purchased uniform compliant socks, and when we see a student wearing non-uniform compliant socks, they will be handed an approved pair to change into, and families will be billed $3 per pair. Spring break gives students time to organize their sock drawers into non-uniform compliant and uniform compliant socks, which are unembellished white, gray, black, or navy OR CSSE logo socks that have been sold by the school in past. No brand logos permitted.
In regard to gum chewing - it shouldn't happen on campus at all, but two warnings will be given. A third violation will result in suspension. We have far too much gum in mouths during mass and stuck to the floor when gum chewing is not permitted.
When we return to school on Monday, March 24th, we will be heading in the last quarter! This is a time to finish strong. Spring events to look forward to include Fine Arts Night, CGSAA Track Meet, 8th grade graduation events, and more. Our annual SALT Day of Service comes up first on April 4th, and it's one of my favorite days of the school year. Please make sure that if you have not turned in your child's permission slip for their SALT trip (2nd Grade+) please do so as soon as school resumes on the 24th.
Please pray for...
Please pray for the strength and healing of Kindergarten teacher Jen Taylor as she begins to receive treatment for her cancer diagnosis. | Please pray for Mrs. Hutchison's husband, Joe, who is home and continuing to heal. | Please pray for Mrs. Smith's mother who is ill. | Please pray for Nora Blevin's aunt, Jennifer, who is receiving treatment for cancer. | Please pray for Coach K's niece, Saylor, as she continues to fight through a rare muscle disorder. | Please pray for Coach K's dad who is battling cancer, and approaching the end of his chemo treatments.
Blessed Stanley Rother, pray for us now, and intercede on behalf of those in need of God's healing.
If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.
Eagle Excellence
Congratulations to our CSSE Spelling Bee students! CSSE hosted this year's Archdiocesan Spelling Bee for all the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools at the Catholic Pastoral Center this week. Our students competed with dignity and represented us well. Special congratulations go out to the following students who are among the best of the best in spelling!
Jonsi Newcomb - 1st Place - 1st/2nd Grade Division
Clara Cieminski - 4th Place - 1st/2nd Grade Division
Kachi Uba - 1st Place - 3rd/4th Grade Division
If you're in town over the break, stop by the Myriad's Sham-Rock-the-Gardens and watch 7th grade student Cecile McKee and Kindergarten student Alice McKee perform with McTeggart Irish Dancers! They will be on stage at 11:45am on Monday the 17th.
Permission Slips & SALT Driver Forms
Permission slips for our April 4th SALT Day of Service are headed home. IMPORTANT: If you are volunteering to drive, please return the driver form and your documents to your student's TEACHER, not the office. Teachers will collect and keep grade level information together before handing off to Ms. Patrick. All permission slips and documents due back by next Wednesday, March 12.
SALT Day of Service & Shirt Orders
We love our beautiful, bright blue SALT shirts, and it's almost time to wear them for our annual SALT Day of Service on April 4, 2025! If your student's shirt still fits and you know where it is, no need for further action.
- All new CSSE students, faculty, and staff are entitled to one free SALT shirt. Please fill out a shirt order form for EACH student/staff member who needs a new shirt or replacement.
- If you have lost your shirt, we can offer a new replacement shirt for $12. Fill out form.
- If you have an outgrown SALT shirt in good condition, turn it in and fill out the form to get a free gently used replacement. Turn in outgrown shirts to SALT box in foyer Mar. 3-13.
Questions? Contact Brigitte Silvernail - bsilvernail@hotmail.com or 918-760-2815.
Shirt order form must be submitted by MARCH 14 to guarantee availability.
Turn Trash Into Trips!
Turn trash into trips! Our students are selling these high quality yard and trash bags! Stock up, because you will love them! Proceeds will go toward funding extended learning opportunities and field trips for classes as needed. This year, the trash bag sale will help send our 6th grade students to Duc in Altum Outdoor Learning Lab at Camp OLOG!
Please check out the order form for more information about these awesome bags, share with family and friends who may want to order through you, and help us fund student adventures! Orders and payment are due to the school office by Wednesday, March 26th. We expect orders to be in for pick up by early-to-mid April.
