Dear Hayshire Families,

The month of December is here and the holidays are just around the corner. Children are filled with excitement and the pure joy that comes with this time of year. We continue to work hard at school to teach and learn. Please continue to encourage your children to work hard. Thank you in advance for your support!

Brrrrrr.... it's cold outside! Tis the seasons for cold temperatures. It is very important for the children to bundle up. Our Lost and Found is already overflowing! If your child is missing a coat or any other items, they're welcome to take a look. I'm going to encourage everyone to put their child's name inside his/her coat. This makes it very easy to return the coat to its rightful owner.

Hayshire will host KIDS KASTLE HOLIDAY SHOP Saturday, December 7 from 9-12 PM! Families, bring your children to secretly shop alongside student volunteers while you relax and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate! Remember to bring your holiday shop envelope and cash/check to the shop. If you are making any donations for the holiday shop, please bring them to the main office by the end of the school day on Friday, December 6. Thank you!

For the month of December, our special teachers and specialists had the honor of selecting Hayshire Students of the Month. Congratulations to Manuel Lozano from kindergarten and Victoria Collins from first grade for receiving this recognition. Both children demonstrate values such as perseverance, character, community, accountability, and excellence! Manuel and Victoria were recognized at Tuesday's school board meeting.

The Hour of Code is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 at the Central York High School Library and Learning HUB! This is a great opportunity to introduce children to computer science and robotics

The PTO Moe's Popup Fundraiser is coming up next week! Use this link to place your order by 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11. Pick up at Hayshire lobby on Thursday, December 12 between 5:30 and 6:00 PM. Moe's donates 25% of kit sales to our Hayshire PTO. See below for more details.

You are welcome to join the Hour of Code at the Central York High School Library and Learning HUB. This is a great opportunity to introduce children to computer science and robotics. See below!

1. Place your order by 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11. Fill out this form to submit your order.

2. Pick up at 2801 Hayshire Dr. between 5:30-6:00 pm on Thursday, December 12. Come to the Hayshire lobby.

3. Can't make it, order a KIT CREDIT. Hayshire PTO will receive the $10.75 and you can grab your kit where and when it works best for you!

We have a very active Optimist Club at Central York High School! This is the first time Optimist International is offering a contest to elementary age students. This exciting competition is designed to encourage and celebrate youth visual art skills! The topic for the contest is Bringing Out the Best.

Central York School District offers optional protection plans for your child’s District issued devices.

The protection plan fully covers your child’s device for any accidental damage that occurs. The cost is $25 per year for iPads and $60 per year for Macbooks.
