April 2, 2024- Republican Primary- 2nd Grade Dismissal Change
On Tuesday, April 2nd, due to the Republican Primary Election in the gym, we have to move 2nd grade's dismissal location to the door by the ramp of the student cafeteria. This exit is to the left of their regular exit, near the corner of the street. Teachers will walk their students down the ramp and head over towards the original dismissal area. Attached is a map showing where the temporary dismissal door will be on this day.
4th Grade Philanthropy
Our 4th graders have decided to partner with βTake Two NYCβ for this yearβs Philanthropic endeavor. We will be holding a sock drive in support of unhoused New Yorkers and others in need. We will be collecting socks from Tuesday, April 2, through Friday, May 3. Our classes will be decorating and setting up boxes that will be left in the lobby for donations. Please help us support our organization by sending in a pair of socks according to the following guidelines:
β All socks must be new
β Medium, Large, and Extra large adult sizes (we accept all sizes including childrenβs, but adult sizes are in highest demand)
β Flexible fabrics & durable materials are highly recommended
β Colors and patterns are welcome but keep in mind that they should be durable materials and still practical for everyday use and wear and tear As always, thank you for your support.
NYC School Survey
Please take a few moments to complete the school survey. The best way to fill out the survey is online, using the NYC-school-survey link. You can also fill out the paper survey and send it back in the sealed pre-paid envelope provided. The deadline to submit a survey is April 5, 2024.
Currently, 33.5% of our families submitted their survey. We would love to hear from everyone!
April Family Workshops
DOE Central has provided the below information for us to share with our Eagle families. There are 15 workshops available for April. Seats are limited so please register as soon as possible.

π¦Ί Student Arrival, Lateness, & Installation of the New Buzzer System π¦Ί
Please remember that school starts promptly at 8:10 AM. Many students arrive well after 8:10 AM, and classes have started transitioning to begin instructional activities. Be aware that when your child arrives late, they often need clarification and are slow-moving, trying to get oriented while their classmates have already settled in. To help your child be ready to learn, please help them arrive on time. Stop-and-drop and morning staff who help outside, have other duties and responsibilities that begin at 8:10 AM.
Please also be mindful that the new buzzer system is close to being fully installed. Once we are trained, the buzzer will be operational. With this, our morning procedures will change, and after 8:20 AM, we can only buzz a child in with a parent coming in with them to sign a log book. To avoid inconvenience, start getting used to helping your child arrive before 8:10 AM. More information about the buzzer will follow once it becomes available in the next few weeks.
Help us help you! Get your child here between 7:50 and 8:10 AM so our excellent stop-and-drop and morning staff can assist your child in joining their class before the day begins. Getting here on time will help them be ready to learn when instruction starts and prevent parents from being inconvenienced by using the buzzer to enter the school building. Thank you for your continued support.
π Traffic Issues Around The School π¨
We are a school that focuses on teaching children leadership. I apologize in advance to the adults that do the right thing. Several of our neighbors in and around our school have complained about parents blocking their driveways, double parking, and in some cases, being rude and disrespectful. Even one of our staff members got injured during stop-and-drop due to negligent driving and a lack of awareness on the driver's part. Remember, our school is in a residential area. We have always had good relationships with our neighbors, but they are fed up! We are worried about the safety of students, staff, and parents.
Be aware of what gear your car is in while your child exits your vehicle, and a staff member helps them. Please don't make U-turns on Natick Street during stop-and-drop, double park, let your child out in the middle of the street, block people's driveways when coming into the school to get your sick child, or curse at the crossing guards or the neighbors. IT IS NOT OKAY, NOT EVEN FOR 1 MINUTE. You wouldn't want that done to you. R_E_S_P_E_C_T others.
You would not want anyone to treat your family like this. Instead, be kind and courteous, park away from the school, and walk. NYPD has been contacted for support, and they will be actively ticketing people who drive and park illegally without warning. Your support is appreciated and expected.
