Hello-Hello-
Next week we have parent-teacher conferences, coffee with the principals and counselors and we have Friday off. This past week, students took the STAR test which shows student growth in math and reading. As I go through the scores, I am excited to see the growth. Next month our 8th graders will be taking the PSAT and Science and Social Studies for the M-STEP. Our 6th and 7th graders will be taking the ELA and Math for the M-STEP. I will share the M-STEP dates with you in my next SMORE.
I wanted to explain the difference between Secure Mode and Lock Down/ALICE. Secure Mode is used if there is a medical emergency for students/staff and also if there is a situation where a student/staff needs privacy for an issue. During this time, students stay in the rooms and teaching continues with limited movement through the building. We always contact the parent of the student who was in the crisis.
Lockdown/ALICE is used when there is a threat to the building either inside or outside. Often when we are going into a lockdown is it due to being contacted by law enforcement regarding an issue within the community that is deemed a concern for the school. When we have to use a lockdown, it is done as a safety measure from either someone inside or outside of the building. We will send out communication if we have to utilize a lockdown. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Have a fantastic weekend and we are excited to see all of you at parent teacher conferences on Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Sports Schedule
I wanted to touch base with you in regards to sporting event attendance. Students in the middle school must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to all games and have their ID or can show their information in StudentVue to get into the games for free. Students can not be dropped off and left without parent/guardian supervision. This is for all Clio sporting events. Also, when students attend the games they will need to be seated on the bleachers. This is for safety reasons and we are also at the game to cheer on our Mustangs.
