Dear Families,

I am beyond excited to start the school year. In the next week, we will open our doors once again to a year filled with excitement, growth, and learning.

Together, we will cultivate a community of learners by behaving in a kind, caring, honest, and compassionate manner in order to challenge and inspire each member of our school community to be more and do more than they thought possible.

I am a Colorado native from right here in Thornton. I have been married to my husband, Gabe Costa, for 21 years this August. We have three daughters, a wonderful 18-year-old, Hailey, an amazing 16-year-old, Averi, and our baby girl, Grace, who is 12-years-old this year. Some of my favorite pastimes include being up in the mountains, skiing, and going to concerts.

* Kindergarten families are invited to come at 3:30 to see a presentation for the kinder teachers about the first week of school (Kinder Camp)

You will have an opportunity to meet your teacher, see friends, and get a bite to eat!

Glacier is providing hamburgers & hotdogs for families. You will find this and other tables in the back of the building on the blacktop.

School hours- 7:50-2:35 Monday-Friday. Our doors open at 7:40. There is NO supervision outside before 7:40.

School Breakfast & Lunch is free for everyone.

New Breakfast Procedure- Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 am in the cafeteria. Students wanting breakfast will enter through the Gym entrance and proceed to the cafeteria. Breakfast will be eaten in the cafeteria, then students will be dismissed to their classrooms.

*Breakfast must be eaten before going to the classroom.

If you are unable to pick up your child from school and need someone else to do so, please ensure that an authorized pickup form is completed in advance. This will allow your student to be released to the designated individual safely. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students secure!

Authorization Form

The online check-in process is the district's check-in process for all families with returning K-12 students enrolled in any district school, including charters. The check-in process is open from July through August and can be accessed through the Infinite Campus parent portal.

Parents can view their child's teacher assignment in Infinite Campus (IC) starting August 6th. However, our registrar has been busy enrolling students for the past two weeks, and we work hard to balance classrooms in terms of gender, numbers, academics, and individual needs. Occasionally, this may result in a change to your child’s assigned teacher. Please check IC before attending back-to-school night or the first day of school to confirm your child’s teacher assignment.

At Glacier Peak, we do not accept teacher requests because we believe in the strengths of all our teachers and value what each one offers to our students. We are working on updating our staff profiles on our website so you can learn more about your child's teacher.
