Cross Country Events
It’s Cross Country season, and the children have been out pushing themselves to achieve their goals in recent weeks.
Well done to our Year 4’s for their effort and resilience during their event this week, with our other classes still to come, building up to the Zones event on June 17. Parents are always welcome to come along to cheer the children on if they are available.
Cultural Festival this Saturday!
I’d like to thank all those who signed up to fill spaces on the roster for Saturday’s Cultural Festival - there is still time to fill remaining spaces if you can make some time for this important community event, and we’re looking forward to seeing many of our families turn out on the day (rain or shine!).
The event also happens to coincide with Eid this year, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families who celebrate this significant festival a warm Eid Mubarak!
Perimeter Fencing Update
In property news, I’m pleased to confirm that we have finally received approval and a start date for our long-awaited fencing replacement to proceed, with work due to commence next week.
We anticipate minimal disruption from this as it is on the boundary, but please be advised there may be brief periods where gates may be closed to allow for prep work. The wheels of bureaucracy can sometimes turn frustratingly slowly when it comes to property matters, but it’s great to have the go-ahead - hopefully the temporary fencing we have had in place since last year will soon be an unsightly but distant memory!
We are also currently at work upgrading four of our aging Junior toilet facilities in Block 2, which continues a programme of toilet upgrades across the school that have taken place over a number of years. We expect this project to be completed by the end of the term.
Network Disruption Monday, June 9
Finally, please be advised that on Monday, 9 June, we are due to undergo an IT network upgrade, so there may be brief interruption to our communication systems here at school.
During this time, our email and also phones (which are digital these days) will not be available, although we expect this to be for less than an hour.
In the event of an emergency, we will continue to have uninterrupted access to the HERO Student Management System, so please be assured you would be notified via the app (or staff mobile) if we needed to contact you directly while the phones are out of operation. We appreciate your patience and understanding while this essential work is carried out.
