Spotlight on Learning
Room 1- Mrs. Hanson
Room 1 has been moving along nicely this past month. In Math, students have been working on determining the area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles using the appropriate formula. Next week they will begin to apply their knowledge of the area to find the surface area of 3-dimensional. In ELA, we are investigating characterization by focusing on point of view and perspective. They have been looking closely at how a character's perspective is their point of view, beliefs, opinions, and attitudes towards the events and other characters in a story. In Science, we have been exploring contact forces through a series of investigations. They are gathering data to help them answer the question, Why things sometimes get damaged when they hit each other? Finally, we have been spending time building our sense of community by working on our coloring sheet for the schoolwide contest together.
Beehive Bistro
We had our 1st Bistro Day this past week. Mrs. Hanson's class helped to cook and serve a Halloween themed menu that included Mummy Dogs, Jack Skeleton Pot Pie, and Brownies for dessert. The students did a great job planning, cooking and serving the meal.

If a student is found to be using their phone during the school day or refuses to hand it in, then parent/guardian will be immediately contacted, the phone will be confiscated for the parent to pick up.
