EJMS Families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful week! We have a busy couple of weeks coming up so make sure you read through all of the details for upcoming events.


Halloween Dress Up

Students will be allowed to dress up this year on Halloween which is Thursday, October 31st. We ask that all outfits stay within dress code and students will not be allowed to wear full face masks.


Parent-Teacher Conferences

We will be having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 4th. Teams will be contacting parents of those students who would benefit from a conference based on grades, behavior, and/or attendance so far this year. We would like to extend an invitation to other parents if you would like to meet with your child’s teachers. Conferences will be held during normal school hours and can be virtual, in person, or by phone. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to set up a conference.


Moonlight Harvest Dance

Our first dance will be on Friday, November 8th from 6:00-8:00 and hosted by our PTO. Tickets are $5 and will be available for one day during lunch on Friday, November 1st. If you have an excused absence on 11/1/24 contact pto.ejms@gmail.com to purchase a ticket. Concessions and gym time will also be available for additional purchase during the dance. See advertisement for details.

Picture Orders and Makeups

Picture Makeup day will be on Friday, November 15th. Prior to makeups we will send home proofs that will have individual order codes on them for online orders. In addition to these proofs, there is a NEW Code Lookup Tool available. Parents can simply scan the QR code and follow the directions to access their child's picture ordering gallery. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! *Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security.* If at any time you have questions about the Code Lookup or are having difficulty navigating the site, please reach out to our Customer Service team via the Live Chat on the website, www.strawbridge.net.

Around EJMS for Last Week

Congratulations to Addison Willett who won a brand new bike for her entry into the Safe Schools Week poster contest! Thank you to Nicholasville PD for helping make this happen.
Thursday our 8th graders participated in the 4H sponsored Reality Store! Big thanks to everyone who ran a booth and supported our students through navigating paying bills, buying a car, taxes, and learning how to survive in the real world.
Students were assigned a job and given a family makeup to begin their journey.

Our First Club Day of the Year

Students and staff had a great time sharing interests and their passions during our first club day. Here are some shots of a few of the clubs that met and the fun we had.

TItle 1 Family School Compact

Family/School Compact

Thank you so much to all of our families who have been able to sign the Family/School compact this year. We really appreciate the great response. As a Title 1 School, we are required to have every student's family sign a compact sharing the responsibilities of the school, the parents/guardians, and the students. Below is a link to a form for you to review and sign. Please submit one copy for each EJMS student in your family. We will also have paper copies available in the office or sent home with your student.

Whenever a student has this signed (either electronically or bringing back the paper), he or she will receive his or her choice of Takis or fruit snacks from the homeroom teacher and also be entered into a drawing for more prizes. The drawing will take place in one week on Friday, Nov. 8.

Join us as we pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country! Our school's Veterans Day program will take place on November 11th.

Reminder: No School Nov. 4 - 5

We will not have school for students on Monday, Nov. 4 or Tuesday, Nov. 5. A shortened EJMS Jaguar Weekly will go out by Nov. 6 at 7:30 AM.
