Summer Practice and Enrichment
We believe that it is absolutely essential for students to practice their mathematical skills over the summer. Please see our district summer assignment below as well as the additional links at the end of the newsletter.

IXL and iReady Online Instruction
For many of our middle school students using either IXL, iReady, or both, students will continue to have access to personalized practice for the majority of the summer (rosters start to switch over to the new school year in August). They should build on their progress with these tools to strengthen their individual skills.
Enrichment
KenKen Puzzles
KenKen Puzzles are a type of puzzle created by a Japanese math teacher named Tetsuya Miyamoto. They are similar to Sudoko but require more mathematical thinking and, with a varying range of difficulty, they can be fun for ages 5 to 100+.
Computer Science
As a department, we are encouraging students to become more interested and aware of the many connections between the study of mathematics and computer science. At the high school level, we offer courses in computer science, but we also encourage students to learn more throughout their years about the importance and excitement of computer science. Check out some of the links below.
